The manga was done by an assistant of Isayama Hajime, the creator of Attack on Titan. Apparently when asked to do an advertisement band for the manga, he decided to troll a little...

Ok, I've never heard of this word but after reading some of the comments here I am now too scared to do it.

Nah, I am pretty sure you can get the same effect with a car battery and jumper cables.

Gotta admit, had the heartiest laugh in a good while from this strip.

And then felt terrible for knowing what was coming.

And then felt good again after seeing how many people had to google it, and their reactions.

Aaah hentai. Giving Japanese males sexual dysfunction since 1997.

(Or so I've been told...)
You've been told wrong.............. It's been around much longer than that. Osamu Tezuka made sexy mouse art way back in the 60s after he got big on Astro Boy. And before that it was on woodblock paintings, although those ones were a ***** to animate...
No, I've been told right. Most of the current sexual problems in modern Japan that have been credited to (or blamed on) hentai start right around the late 90's or early 00's.

"1997" seemed like a good place to split the difference.
That sounds weird. I've generally heard Japan's sexual problems blamed on their crazy work culture, as well as the fact that women in a relationship will usually be passed over for career advancement because it is assumed that at some point they will want to take maternal leave.
I think that's definitely a contributing factor. When Japan was poised to become THE economic superpower in the late 80's and early 90's, that was probably true. Their crazy work culture pushed people to put careers before family. It also led to a lot of people literally working themselves to death and having heart attacks at a young age.

Recently though, it seems as women have become more independent, the men have become more repressed. There have been more cases of men marrying their anime "waifus" or spending time on hentai instead of going out an meeting real women.

But I admit, most of my information is second hand.

Any of our Escapees either from or living in Japan care to comment? If I'm off base, set me straight.

Reminds me of an old, odd game for Amiga/Windows I'd heard about, Apidya. Designed to look Japanese (including a Japanese title screen) the game was actually developed in Germany, and starred a man cursed to be a wasp avenging his murdered girlfriend. But either by incompetence or brilliance, the girlfriend's name was Yuri.

'Yuri' means 'lesbian' in Japanese.

I just love reading the reactions of people googling it for the first time. What can I say, corrupting the innocents is fun!

Yuri as a name has specific kanji in Japanese, most commonly meaning "lily", the word was co-opted in use for "girls' love" in the sexual sense, because boys' love had the term "yaoi", in the sexual context. The term yaoi has many arguments on the actual root of the word but the two most common translate to "pointless male sex/love" and "stop that! My ass hurts!".

Feels a bit weird to see Erin portrayed like that but hey, they've got hentai/porn comics of almost anything these days.
There's actually a fair bit of Erin Rule 34 out there already.
Funnily enough I instinctively think of what fictitious characters and creatures smell like and for some reason I think Erin would not smell very nice (even though this is likely not the case), significantly more-so than most perfectly human characters (at least when wearing her staple clothes).

I think it might be because I associate her dress style with a relative whom when she was a young toddler had frequent potty accidents for a few months. I am personally steering clear of any potential Erin R34 because I know that my first thoughts would be revulsion.

That's pretty much correct, but it's missing the part where your wife of 10 years rolls over afterwards, queefs and then starts giggling so madly she shoots snot out of her nose.

Thank you for sharing. That was very generous.

It seems anonymity on the internet can sometimes lead to good things. ;p

There is a special place in hell reserved for people who are sexually attracted to women making idiotic facial expressions. In fact, this is the main plot point of Dante's Inferno 7: The Infernoing.
