All right, I've never owned an XBone and almost certainly never will, but I can at least share a few reasons why.
First and foremost, the usual complaints (Perma-Kinect, mandatory Internet connection at all times etc.) Yup. Leave it to Microsoft to provide the world with a console that looks even less attractive than the 360 with its 'chew up disc' and 'random self destruct' - functions. (I should note that I've never owned a 360 either.)
Secondly: This 'backpedal' thing, which removed the more unpopular features, was primarily a set of software upgrades - which means that MS can just wait until enough people have bought XBones, and then just as easily reactivate everything again.
Third, I don't like the idea of one device doing everything for me. Give me a decoder that decodes my TV shows, a toaster that makes toast and a console that I can use to play games. Besides, I already have all I need of those other things, so the extra functions of the XBone are completely redundant. The PS4, while equipped with a few extra functions of its own, is still primarily a gaming console - and therefore offers me far more gaming console (and less redundant crap) for my money!
Fourth, I do not trust any device that takes voice commands. Especially one that also functions as a TV decoder. Someone on TV might accidentally tell the XBone to delete my hard drive or something. Yeah. Go ahead and laugh - but you can't prove that it couldn't happen!
