take my advice, DON'T GET A WII, it's a total waste of money and you will regret it, especially when your selling it for food. Oh, wait, that was me.
Did it start sdoing the restore thing but didn't pass 1%? That happened to me (NBA 2K10 file was corrupt) and I just said fuck it and reset the PS3. It told me it still had to restore the system but this time it worked. Did you post here before selecting "restore system files" or did it just not work?monkey_man said:i think they do. Let me Explain: about ten years ago, my mother bought my brother an ps2. he was happy with it, and so was I. we had for 2-3 years, and i accidentally broke it. it wasn't a big deal, because it was bought again the same day. after a few years, i bought an Xbox with my brother, and it worked fine. until it RROD ed on me. I was angry, but i thought that it would be time to buy a ps3, since i knew god of war 3 was coming out, and i wanted it. i bought the Ps3 for 400 Euros. and it worked fine. UNTIL IT CRASHED ON ME YESTERDAY!. its system data was corrupted and it needed to re-install it or something. and it entered a loop of doing the same thing again. i can't return it, because i lost te receipt.
what should i do? go to the store and buy a second Xbox Or a Second Ps3? or does an Escapist know how to fix my Ps3?
it said : the hard disk's file system is corrupted and will be restored
what do I do?
I've found that most reputable grocery stores don't accept Wii's as form of payment actually.bloodshed113094 said:take my advice, DON'T GET A WII, it's a total waste of money and you will regret it, especially when your selling it for food. Oh, wait, that was me.
What do you mean by a 'loophole'?monkey_man said:i already spend my days behind my pc, and the guy with 13 XBOX360's should consider buying a ps3Woodsey said:And sorry, I've never used a PS3 so I wouldn't know. But it says "and will be restored", which almost sounds like it's going to do it itself.
Also, because I've contributed to the thread, I'm going to bring something up totally unrelated:
The Mafia 2 demo is amazing, and I recommend everyone try it out right now.
and it won't be restored, because the thing is stuck in a loophole, i spend 2 hours trying to fix it by pressing "x" a lot of times, but it didn't work
and i might check out mafia2's demo

OP, use internet tutorial's to help you out if your out of warranty, Sony normally charge 120 euros to fix them and it'll come back with no data on the HDD.

i broke the xbox open. it wasn't smart and the warranty was lost, but it was fun as hellbloodshed113094 said:OK, truthfully, you need to state 'I don't throw controllers or anything' so we know you didn't brake it yourself. But, RROD aren't permanent, they are just telling you to get me checked out, check the cords or restart me. You can mail it into Microsoft and they will fix it for free if it's old enough and the PS3, look it up on Google first to see what to do, and if you can't fix it, a new hard drive or memory card, it's hard to keep track what any console does for memory anymore, can be replaced and it could work fine, but keep the recite in case, because I'm not 100% about that, due to giving Sony the farewell after the PS one and only recently getting a PS2. Hope it works out, and theirs no such thing as Console Gods.

Who in their right mind buys 13 consoles? Didn't he think "Damnit that's the third one! Fuck it I'll buy a PC" Or something? I mean. Seriously. The sum of 13 360's is more than enough to buy a -really- nice computer.Woodsey said:Actually, that's the PC gods telling you they want you to game on the PC. But yeah, in all seriousness I read about a guy (and this was in 2007, so only 2 years after the 360 launched) who'd gone through 13 360s, and they'd all broken down on him. THIRTEEN! Yours is just an unlucky coincidence.

Or the person who claims to have purchased 13 consoles is trolling. Simple enough.SilverStrike said:Who in their right mind buys 13 consoles? Didn't he think "Damnit that's the third one! Or a second hand car.
Actually I think it was how many times they'd broken on him, not how many actual consoles he'd gone through. I know he'd gone through several though. But yeah, they wouldn't send him that many free replacements, so he'd have been buying loads.SilverStrike said:Who in their right mind buys 13 consoles? Didn't he think "Damnit that's the third one!
