Maybe not a sequel but I'd like to see something else in the 'Avatar' universe, you've got a CG world already rendered might as well use it for something; As long as it's something good

Asteroid X57 will be on a collision course with Pandora. We'll take the perspective of a human marine, Sommander Chepard, who tries to shut down the fusion torches propelling the asteroid.

Really, crossovers are good.

I don't think a movie like that really needs a sequel.

I'm not going to make any judgments now, but i don't feel like it could possibly live up to the original.

The story wasn't great, but it made the statement that it set out to, and anything else feels like so much extra baggage.

On the other hand, Avatar's greatest strength was in the world it created, and part of me thinks that it would be a waste NOT to further explore Pandora

Avatar II: Gif Animation. The visuals get pushed to a ridiculous level. Peoples eyes hurt more. Other people hurt on the inside when the movie ends (avatar 2 depression). Much irritation is had by decent people.

Well judging by the reaction to it, then it seems James Cameron could completely scrap all elements of the story and just have live-action shots of some grass, and it would still garner the same "OMG LULZ THT WS AMZING!!!!11111one11!!!!!"

Oh god how I hate public opinion.

I'm betting the humans won't be hiring mercenaries that are any more competent than the last batch for Avatar 2. Seriously, we could have won that fight with today's technology. Because, you know, our current aircraft can fly well above the limits that any winged animal can.

Yes. And since the first steals from a script, the second should use the script to Child's Play, but you know, with big ass robots and blue people.

If people want to see another avatar movie why not?

If they can make another one knowing people will go see it why not?

The real question is "Do we really need a thread about this?"

It made so much money they are going to make it.

There is no, "do" or "should" it's only, "when"

yup we do! when the film ended i wished i was longer.
Long Stu is loooong?

On-Topic: If i remember right he already had sequel storylines written out so it should hopefully not be one of those horrible tacked on money grubber sequels.

I didn't particularly like the movie, so I don't care, but they hinted at some stuff in there, that made me go "Saving it for the sequels, huh?". Something hinted at the past of the Na'vi.

I bet the second movie has Jake find out that in the past Na'vi used to be a technological society, but after almost destroying the planet, they learned to live in harmony with the nature and whatever.
