I didn't care before I got a XBox 360, but now they're sort of a requirement for me, which is unfortunate.. I just can't appreciate some games the same as I used to.

Not always, I still play Final Fantasy 7 and 8, comparatively between then and now the graphics don't live up, however I cannot stand cartoon graphics in games, it simply drives me up the wall!

That, it can look like crap, but If I find one single plot-hole I'm snapping the disc.

They'll just say a wizard did it if there's a plot hole

Anyone who says no is lying. Graphics are important but they are not the MOST important thing. Solid gameplay is the key, and that can be built in any number of ways. If your gameplay is solid, you can present it with low quality graphics and still have a memorable game on your hands. If you slap in some incredibly fancy graphics, well it's like the cream cheese icing on the mayonayse cake.

Yes. I have a roommate who sets all of his games to low everything, then goes into console and fiddles with that as well. He says it makes him a 'pro gamer' because he can get better FPS and win.

I like my games to look amazing. I play one game on highest spec, it lags every now and then but looks amazing anyway! Besides I don't want to have to choose which pixelated blob on screen I shoot at and find out it was the guy I was supposed to save.

Design is more important for me. It's why Team Fortress 2 will be timeless.

To an extent, yes I do care about graphics.
To an extent, I also do not care.

I really do not care about having the most modern Crysis graphics, or even Xbox graphics. But I also would not like many games if the graphics were 8 bit, or something similar.

While graphics is not the most important thing, it does help, whether i want to admit it or not. I actually feel like i'm cruel because i picked up baldurs gate 1 up half a year ago, and couldn't think about anything but the fact that the resolution was horrible while playing.

But i don't need over the top graphics. I have a wii and not a 360/ps3, and even though i have a powerhouse PC i still enjoy Warcraft 3

No as moment developers are using all that wasted effort making games I can finish in a day what bland unoriginal and mindless. Give me a plot a decent setting and a bit of length and I can forgive quite a lot as they what make a game memorable as when last time saw a game 5 years down the line praised for it's graphics?

I Like pretty graphics, but graphics alone a good game do not make.Storyline is the most important thing in a game, IMO.

Yes. Classics can sometimes help me overlook but I find it very hard coping with how terrible those games look now.

Now, the Wii would have proven that graphics don't matter so much if most of their owners were not drooling soccer moms and 8 year olds who don't know that there is such thing as games that look good, so their ignorance discards them as a credible source. Try telling me that even the best looking Wii titles, like idk...Super Mario Galaxy, look as good as, say, Gears of War on my high def monitor hooked up with an HDMI cable and I'd probably have zoned out and gone to play some Gears before you finished your sentance. So to the millions of Wii owners maybe it doesn't matter, but I'd say it does to most of the 360/PS3 owners.

Not if intense focus on graphics lowers the quality of the gameplay or story but really in this day and age there is no reason why a game shouldn't have breathtaking graphics.
