Do you consider yourself intelligent?

I like how Scott Adam's puts it, that even smart people can be idiots from time to time, like when he turned his pager in for 'malfunctioning' when he had just put the batteries in backwards. I think im smart but i have alot more of those 'idiot' moments to convince people otherwise ._. and grammar be DAMNED, im too creative to follow the rules u.u

I like to think that I have some degree of intelligence. Genius, heck no. Maybe a little above average? Maybe. Academically I was able to sustain 90% or higher grades through school, but I always found school to be more based on the capability to memorize, retain and recall information rather then actual intelligence. However, when it comes to common sense? Yea, pretty sure even my birds beat me in that category

I'm sure that I am above average when it comes to intelligence, but intelligence should not be confused with school smarts. I could get away with saying that I know a little about a lot...

I am just as smart as I want myself to be. People who come over as confident and smart, are precieved as that much most of the time. I've met a guy who was really intelligent, but was THAT smart, that nothing else mattered but HIS thought on something, which made him very stupid at the same time. Intelligence isn't based on one thing. Some people are wise/intelligent on one front, but could very well lack on others.
I couldn't solve a mathematical puzzle for you, but I can assas most of the social interaction that is going on between people in no time. That doesn't necessarily make me smart or stupid.

It depends on your definition of intelligent.

If your definition is just "you know a lot of stuff", then yes, I am intelligent.

However, if you use my definition, which is "You can easily interpret and apply complex concepts", then no, I am that not intelligent.

Definition number one is called "Knowledge", which is completely different to intelligence.

You can be a fucking moron and come out with a stream of A grades in school. (Dumb blondes do this a lot) I've seen chavs, while not getting a stream of As, get good grades in subjects like "Construction" or "Cooking", easy shit, really.

I'm gonna have to lean in the direction that we are not intelligent, we are just intelligent compared to everyone else.

I learn things quickly. That is the closest I come to intelligence.
I'm not really all that smart. I don't really know anything about anything. Any conversation with me that lasts more than five minutes is enough to tell you just how meteorically stupid I am.

I think people tend to assume I am smarter than I am, though. Presumably because I wear glasses.

Same thing happens to me kinda, I don't feel so smart and brilliant but I keep getting told I am.
Now I shall mention a fun saying that I think I just heard on this very thread:
"I'm not smart. It's just that everyone around me are stupid."

I've always been told I'm clever, but I don't know what'd it be like not to be, I've nothing to compare it to. Also, I'm pretty lazy and socially not as good as I could be. So basically, in terms of raw intelligence I'm probably quite clever, in terms of using it, not so much.
