I'd be more confused than anything, having dark brown hair and all.

But if I was ginger, I doubt I'd be offended by someone pointing out the obvious.

I have ginger hair (enough to call it at least slightly ginger), and no. I don't feel angry or anything when called that. Why should I? It's true.

I also don't really understand how it's an insult for one thing, or why people have such a hate, real or not, for gingers for another.

Man, I had no idea that this was a real insult until the South Park episode came out and then I started hearing from my Brit friends about how 'ginger' was an insult. So weird!

Here in Ireland gingers are really common, so I never really get teased about it, I've never had anyone seriously try and offend me by using "ginger" as an insult. I would probably get annoyed if someone decided to use it as a serious insult, but not by much.

I do have ginger friends and they don't care.
I call my friend's fire crotch "The Legend"
My hair is blonde so when my ginger friends say I am stupid, I ask how they live without a soul.

My flatmate has ginger hair, and only hates it when people use it as an insult....because it makes no sense as an insult. However his nickname with his mates is "Ginga ninjaaaa!"

I don't mind being called a ginger. :) Unless they make stupid ginger jokes, but even then it doesn't bother me much.

I've got brown hair and I've never called a redhead a ginger. Oh, your hair is different. Big whoop. Just another excuse to bully someone that I've never really understood. Of course, it could be used as a term of endearment but what do I know?

I don't think people call red heads 'ginger' with genuine hate- they more like to take the piss and be jokey with it I feel. Plus Ginger girls are now considered hot here in England, so it doesn't really matter to me anymore :)

I think, if I still had my natural hair colour (ginger), and someone called me that then I'd not be fussed. After being bullied for it in my younger years I've kind of become immune to it.

I just get kinda confused because I'm Asian and not red haired or pale skinned at all.

I've been called it, but not in an insulting way. I have a friend who calls me "Ginger Snap" all the time.

When I call someone a ginger, it's a term of endearment. I love me some red headed men, extra cookies if he has freckles. <3

I don't get what the name implies. "Oh you have red hair, and some freckles, so you suck!" ...thanks for describing my appearance.

Not like the name has any meaning besides that.

LOVE IT!!!

Seriously, if thats the best 'insult' someone can come up with, you can tear them apart for their 'creativity' or for being 'observant'.... Although I did get called a goldfish at a swimming pool once... I shook their hand because I'd never heard it before. They were unsuprisingly quite shocked.

I'm constantly being called soulless & I just find it funny.

I can honestly say that I would be a very, VERY, different person if I didn't have ginger hair.
