I won't lie. I've been a dick to new members before, but I think that we should try to welcome new members and make them feel welcome. (Saying welcome to The Escapist isn't hard)0p3rati0n said:

I´m not exactly a regular in here, but when it comes to newer members, I tend to be more tolerant than towards seniors. However, I still will drop the Search Bomb, because they´ll never learn if their mistakes aren´t pointed out. Constructive criticism and helpful advices work better.
I don't usually find that many copied threads from newbies, but if they've been around a while then I will yell at them a bit and mention the search bar.

No one ever lets what slide? People not using the search button or breaking the rules? I try to myself, there are some crimes that one can not forgive. But they are few and far between. But to be honest, even I've broken these rules before, so I'd be a hypocrite if I didn't forgive other people for it. And I don't mind repeat threads (except for the zombie-ones).
I do hate necro-threads but I usually don't bother to express this sentiment.
I think I'm more aggressive towards the Grammar Nazis then the people who make mistakes, especially since most of the latter have English as a second language.
They need training (which comes naturally through posting and reading on a forum such as this).
They don't need scolding.
