Do you have a fetish? Why do you think you have it?

1. Yes and I'm very well aware of it. So much so...

2. That it occurred to me one day, just why exactly am I downloading all this stuff? I then worked backwards through my porn habits all the way to my formative years as a teenager struggling to find ways past AOL's parental blocking software. Suffice to say, I was successful and my Dad hated AOL enough that we dropped it after a year.

Quite a few but I'd rather not go into great detail about them here...
As for why? Hell if I know. If i knew, I'd say, I'm gonna roll with the personality thing for some of them though...
This. They aren't really weird or anything, but it's still stuff that I wouldn't say on a public forum. :p

I've been attracted to boots... I believe it's something I inherited by my family.

But I've also had an attraction to legs... I think that's because in Junior high I saw the Manga Angelic Layer and saw this beautiful blue Japanese doll with a slit open dress revealing her leg and a garter belt. I've loved them on either gender ever since...

Now my interest in boobs is do too as a child being traumatized by a big breasted blue tree from the Last unicorn sticking a mans face into her large cleavage and nearly suffocating him.

And I'm a straight girl >>

1. Yes, Macrophilia and masochism.
2. I wouldn't have a clue, someone mentioned overbearing mothers once; the thought of which freaks me well out, but is most likely the reason.

1) yep a few of them. Bondage (submissive), furries, and like cosplay / neko roleplay stuff are the big ones.

2) I discovered the wonders of the interwebz.

1. Midriff-bearing tank tops worn by ladies with exceptional busts, with no 'support,' especially if the tanktop is pink. Yeah, not that 'odd' at first, but you have to take into account that when she's wearing a midriff-bearing tank top, I don't want her to take it off. Period. [http://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Main/IfYouKnowWhatIMean] Everything else can go, but the top stays missy.

If she really needs to have her chest be exposed, I'd prefer it if she were to just pull the front up (or down), just so long as the top stays on.

2. A former lady friend of mine, she wore tank tops like the one I described all the bloody time, (as well as a few other equally bust-complementing tops) having a truly immaculate bust and body in general (and holy shit that brain of hers, I never thought I'd ever have such intellectually stimulating philosophical discussions/sparring matches in my life! And I haven't had any since she left, of course... T_T) and it drove me insane.

Man do I miss her...

1: Several. Voraphilia and a pregnancy fetish (no fucking way am I spelling that right). Vore is a fetish based on people being eaten alive, mind you. Most voraphiles identify as prey, but I roll pred. You can ask if you want more details.

2: (Guessing here) My parents never really talked about sex, and I grew up in the middle of nowhere. I watched a lot of cartoons were people were eaten, I guess I just identified with that, or something?
Interesting, didn't know about that one.

For some reason your avatar has started creeping me out all of a sudden...

On topic,
1. Yes...a fair few surprisingly... (roundabout answer like everybody else :p). Not many tooo obscure things, just small things that i find inexplicably haawt.
2. Erm...dunno? I watch a lot of anime etc...so a few obscure Japanese interests stemmed from that I spose...

{1} Yes, of course I do. We ALL do.

{2} I leave you to ponder that while I sit in the dark, madly cackling to myself.

1. Yes.

And it's a FETISH, not a kink or a turn-on. People seem to be pretty confused by the difference on this thread. A kink or turn-on is something you can take or leave at any given time. A fetish is something you AT LEAST need to think about ALL the time in order to make things "work." I have plenty of kinks (like other people), but only one fetish.

2. Without going into too much detail (it's too personal)... Well, I'm a sadist. (I don't consider that a "fetish," I consider that more like a sexual orientation.) I'm not sure why I'm a sadist, except that when I was a kid I was really, deeply fascinated by the limits of what human bodies and minds can endure. By 9 or 10 I guess I just eroticised suffering - I suppose in theory I could have ended up a masochist instead. Maybe it's just some quirk of personality that made me "swing" one way and not the other.

As a kid, I was turned on by some fairly extreme stuff, very sadistic stuff, and I was scared that I was evil and would grow up to be a serial killer or something. When I was 13, I basically stumbled across some BDSM erotica and found a "safe" version of some of the things I liked earlier. And I sexually imprinted on it, basically. I remember pretty much the exact moment! So that thing I imprinted on is now my fetish.

Outside of that I have some fairly bog-standard kinky turn-ons. Bondage, impact play, shit like that. I can't think of specific reasons for most of those. I think at least part of the appeal of bondage to me is physical safety, because I was abused as a kid. (Personally, I don't think the abuse caused my sadism - I know that's a popular theory - although I can't prove it.) I always have my guard up around people a bit in case they try to physically attack me, and the idea of being safe because the other person is 100% helpless and unable to hurt me appeals. In general, I know I have control issues from a chaotic childhood - I really need to be the one in control.

Outside of BDSM:

-Androgyny: probably a bit of a narcissistic/"I can relate" thing because I am an FtM.
-Panties with lace ruffles in the back: no idea, but I like booty, so adding texture seems nice.
-Futuristic/sci-fi settings: what can I say, I'm a huge geek.

I'm not entirely sure if what turns me on can be considered fetishes, nor do I really know how they came to be a part of my sexual identity. You'd have to ask the Cosmic Owl.

Preusmably, liking breasts would count as a fetish, in that it's a cultural thing not universal to the species.
Any form of sexual attraction is not universal to our species.

Heterosexuality is as close to universal as you are going to get, and it is the inherent nature of monosexuals- both homosexuals and heterosexuals- to be attracted to gender specific traits. Different heterosexuals tend to focus on different things. Some focus on the butt, some focus on the breasts. I suppose you could argue that large, well-shaped breasts are totally unnecessary for mating, but one could also argue that the female attraction to a tight butt on men is also unnecessary.

1. I certainly do. It's a japanese word starting with a B that means something akin to splash.

2. Honestly, I have no idea. I looked up a couple things before responding to this and the generally accepted answer just doesn't fit since if the girl isn't enjoying it, it does nothing for me. That being said I think I will continue researching since I am curious as to what may have influenced this.

1. Domination (on the Receiving end), and doing some stuff in public...
2. Really, i don't know. The public stuff just cuz it feels so forbidden and fun, but the former, not sure. I'm not very leader-ish, or an alpha-male type at all.
I'm a follower, not a leader, through and through.

Its hot, duh.
Well that's not a very informative answer. Many fetishes are considered NOT hot by the "normal" population. *not being discriminatory or anything*

Why do you find it hot, that's what we are exploring.
That was what I meant with that reply. Its one of those things that you can't really put your finger on! You just like it. Its ingrained!

As you shouldnt... although represing it probably isnt healthy either. So you need to figure out a way of making it repulsive to you.
Just because his fetish is morally repulsive to some, does not mean that he should try to get rid of it or should be shunned for it. Half the damn fetishes here are just plain wrong, and no one bats and eye and just laughs. People being eaten alive? Animal relationships? Etc? If we're going to judge one fetish for being "too extreme," then all fetishes are too extreme. And fetishes make up who we are, and we must accept that. Now some fetishes are dangerous and we should try to understand the physiological reasoning behind it and help find some way to treat it, but until then don't go around telling people that one fetish is wrong over another, simply because you do not agree with it.

Because that's just ignorant and hypocritical.

As for the thread: I have no idea honestly, it changes all the damn time. I don't even know what I like or dislike anymore, everyday is something different, yet none really stay for longer than a few weeks. I mainly ignore it, however. I don't even find time in the day anymore to explore anything like that, too busy lately with school, training for military service, working out, studying for the SAT, community service, etc. There's just not enough time in the day, and I end up just falling asleep once I get home.

1) Tops over tits. As in, the top pulled above the tits, not covering it.
2) It just looks hot. DON'T JUDGE ME!

Yes. Nekos. ("Catgirls" to you Yanks. Neko is the "proper" term for them.)

Reason? I guess since I have a personality that is decidedly feline.
