Do you have reloading OCD?

I reload a lot. Usually after every kill if there isn't another target in sight.
Slight of Hand became my first priority to get to pro status in Black Ops.

I don't reload a weapon until the magazine is empty

tohugh it does bug me when my ammo counter shows being off the sum of the magazines capacity

for example, I have a 12 rounds gun, fully loaded, and 25 ammo in my backpack

I'd shoot one in the air and reload just to have two magazine's worth of ammo

Very much so. I was vair vair happy when I discovered the auto-reload option in TF2.

More then a few times have reloading killed me indeed. "Used 3 shots with the AA12 in Killing Floor? Better reload!" And then something nasty came and bit me in the arse.

Or if I play Team Fortress 2, I constantly reload after shooting a rocket when I play soldier...soldier has the slowest reload time of all classes >.<

In the start when I first played Gears of War this was the doom of me in multiplayer, since I just pressed reload and ran into action...with a failing gun. However the instant reload mechanic in the gears games work well with reloading OCD for me atleast, I always...well, almost always, get a perfect reload.

So, ya, even though reloading OCD might be a "curse", it's also a "blessing" sometimes xD

It starts to annoy me when I catch myself doing it aswell.

Shoot someone, duck behind some cover and reload, pop out and shoot someone else and hide to reload.

No idea why I just keep bloody reloading. I don't need to half the time. Most of my fights would be over a lot quicker if i'd just shoot them with the nearly full magazine that was in my gun.

oh yeah i got it bad ... as an example i'm playing the new Deus Ex and i have the silenced 10mm pistol with increased ammo capacity (22 rounds) so while i'm being sneaky if i can't see a way past a patrol i poke around the corner and pop him one right in the dome ... one shot one kill .... i could do this half a dozen times in the span of 5 minutes or so but everytime i take that ONE shot i would go back behind cover as i hit the reload button >< .... even though i knew it was unnecessary i couldn't help it

Oh and if i watch OTHER people playing shooters and they DON"T reload as often as i would (4 rounds left in an 8 round shotgun magazine as an example) i start to fidget and it takes all the control i have not to shout at them to reload!

Yes - I tend to reload after every single kill unless there is another enemy in close quarters... Ever since CoD4 I've been doing that - now it's a habit simply too powerful to break...

What's up with all this OCD crap? Unless you guys are reloading after every shot or so in the middle of a fire fight! Then you're just being tactical and ensuring that in your next battle you'll have more ammo and won't have to resort to your backup.

Well, let me put it this way. This is the M224-A1 LMG from Killzone 3. It holds 96 rounds before you need a reload. It does not take nearly that many to kill someone. And yet I still get one kill with it and if nobody else is immediately visible nearby, I can't help but reload to get my 10-20 bullets back even though I still have at least 70 to run through. Also of note is that this gun takes an insanely long time to reload, which means if someone does show up, you are dead.

Needless to say that I don't use that gun much because it gets me killed due to my strange need to reload all the damn time.

This. Except I also just HAVE to have an exact number of full reloads left in my magazine count. So, with the battle rifle on Halo 3, I have to have either 36, 72 or 108 ammo left in my count, as well as a full one in the gun, so I end up wasting copious amounts of ammo.

Depends on the game. In Left 4 Dead 2 I have a severe case of the "reloading OCD". But then, this is because I'm usually going pump-shotty/pistols or HR/melee in my scrims. Ergo, reloading often is sort of a necessity. (though I still do it too often, like reloading my pistols or deagle after firing one shot)

However, in most games I don't reload until my "clip" is below 25%. So I guess you could say my "reload OCD" is rather selective.

Yes. To the point that I physically cringe if I'm watching an LP or walkthrough and the guy fails to reload for a long time.

I used to have this problem. I'd reload if I only fired a single shot.

I've done a pretty good job of getting over it (especially with LMGs).

I used to, but then I started playing L4D2 with Extended Realism, which removes any rounds in a clip from your count if you prematurely reload. It breaks you of that habit real fast, or forces you to use nothing but shotguns. <_<

I had it till i started playing the more serious FPS's. battlefield, flashpoint, ARMA etc

of course i never had it way back when in games like doom and duke nukem as reloading was never even an issue. I think goldeneye was when i first started to reload too much. Now im quite happy with the tactical pistol switch

yes and ironicly my favorite guns are big ass machinguns with magasines the sise of the moon.
