I occasionally think that this entire universe is a product of my warped, twisted and sick imagination. {grin}
Like most people in this thread I often have very detailed imaginings. Mostly for entertainment.

i imagine a lot and my imagination runs wild. like, really wild. i have at least 3 virtual worlds simulated in my imagination runnig pretty much all the time. sometimes when i am annoyed i imagine world falling appart around me sort of like how silent hill nightmare world comes to be, but more violent.
i create my own fantasies and make whole games out of it. like years lasting games. with calculations, leaderboards, whatever.

Thing is, if i were to put it to work, most people would find it boring. i did write 2.5 books, but never published.

When I worked behind the counter in a supermarket I usually just spaced out, doing my work (Including talking to the customer) on full auto.
It was like wasn't even there, man!

I can imagine alot!

I think everyone can imagine things but you imagine things less as you get older because your brain gets less suple and harder like an old tree. Actually, I bet if you spent all your time daydreaming you'd probably just get better and better at it but then you'd have to tell people what you were imagining all the time so that you could sell pieces of yourself for money.

I've been able to create things in my head and after closing my eyes for a moment I can make it appear in a room for a few seconds. I quietly revel in my imagination and it is my life's dream to make the universes in my mind appear on paper someday.

One thing I know for sure about my imagination is that I can't force it. If I'm sitting down and telling it to create, it'll turn off. I tend to have my best ideas when I'm doing dull repetitive tasks (retail work, dishes, cleaning rooms, etc) and its frustrating because I usually can't stop and write it down.

The times I get to write it down is where it all begins. I have 3 novels in my head at the moment and I'm thinking about one every day now. Imagination is awesome and a way of escape. My joy is keeping that feeling of escape trapped in words. ^.^

Can anyone not do those things if they try?

As far as basic visual representation, I've had moments when my eyes are closed and yet it is as if my eye-lids are transparent because I'm imagining what's in front of me that vividly, usually with a fair degree of accuracy and detail. However, that usually takes a particular mental state to pull off well (usually when I'm just the right kind of tired).

My dreams are vivid and downright artistic at times, even when my normal daily life seems drab or boring. I've realized something - it's impossible to become bored in a dream. You're either fascinated with a dream, or you're in dreamless sleep at any given moment.

My daydreams, unlike my dreams, usually don't emulate reality though - it's more like I'm watching a cartoon or playing a video game - even if I'm in it, it's a stylized representation of me, etc.

It is said that good writing may spring from being able to think up such dynamic characters that you hear them practically telling YOU how they would take their actions on paper. I do this a fair lot. I have alot of characters. However, I have gone further than this. I create worlds and races, doctrines and developments. I have wrangled with magic and technology on a massive scale. I have bent and broken and basted the fourth wall like a turkey...

...which I will proceed to reference Hellsing Abridged about...

THAT'S RIGHT, I went there without even being vulgar about it!

I have a fifteen year old group of villains who are exceptionally twisted beings and quite powerful. They developed over the course of years, rendering them not OP but justified in what they have...especially since what they have has rather unbreakable rules for fun and profit. I am waiting wholeheartedly for science to catch up with me and my crazy imagination.

90% of the time I've spent awake has been in a completely different plane of existance from each and every other poor soul, stuck to the bounds of this reality.

I also bake.
