Generally don't like it, but if it's mixed well with other forms like Linkin Park did it then I do not mind.

To me it rates as the lowest form of music (right next to pop), in pop they still need to teach those bimbos how to sing, in hip-hop you don't even need that... but you know that is my silly view on the matter.

Short answer...nah.

Long answer: Well, I don't like what I would call 'Hip-Hop' but I like UK Grime music.

Here are some examples, let me know what you think:]

The song starts a little into the video...but yeah, bear with it ^_^. And it has Tim Westwood in it. What a winner.

:D.
Knock over the CD rack ain't getting none of your CDs back

Well I was just listening to some Lupe Fiasco, so I'd have to say yes, I like hip-hop. I like Kanye even, I just wish he's do a Zappaesque "shut up and produce the record" album. I don't however, like most gangsta rap, it encourages punching, boastfulness and rudeness towards hos.

Hip-hop is a big part of my life. It's by no means the primary genre of music I listen to, but nothing really is... I find it can have staggering variety when it wants to, and oft times is just what I need to get myself going on a drawing or painting. It makes me upset that people disregard it as a genre so much, choosing instead to take the mainstream as the genre as a whole, ignoring the multitude of talented artists. My top few artists would be: Jurassic 5, Blackalicious, De La Soul, POS, Cecil Otter, Dessa and Nujabes, but it's the tip of massive iceberg of great music.

I used to. Most people don't realize the difference between rap and hip-hop, for starters. Kayne West is hip-hop. Eminem is a rapper.

Most music in general these days is horrendous, and hip-hop is not exception and is actually possibly leading the charge of shitty music, so these days, no, I don't. Old school joints I still play regularly, however.

I am a huge Hip Hop fan, there is the same amount of tripe as any other genre and as usual its the most successful artists who drag the art form down.

I personally love the UK Hip Hop scene for example:

If anyone is interested me and my friend are releasing a UK Hip Hop EP next week, it's free to download so PM me if ya wanna copy with subject "YOUR EP"

To be honest, I can't stand hip hop, mainly due to the people I see preforming it and the peole I see listening to it. Its, in my opinion, a crappy genre of music.

Having said that, The Gorillaz are one of my favourite bands, and hip hop. But alot of their songs don't feel like conventional hip hop. So yeah, I'll stick to my rock xD
I saw your post Zenoaugustus and as a rabid hip-hop fan i had to contribute. Mr Deverfro's opinion is one shared by many who weren't exposed to the best examples of what the genre has to offer. The thrash that you hear on the radio is NOT indicative of the scene.
Common, The Roots, Kanye West (yes MR West IS a Genius any real hip-hop fan will attest),
MF DOOM (the GREATEST), J Dilla (far to underrated to this day), Nujabes (also quite underrated RIP to his Genius) KRS-ONe the list goes on and on...

I'm kind of fired up now lol
I am a huge Hip Hop fan and Kanye West is almost as shit as Jay Z, they are both sloppy slow rappers with no technique, thats right I said it lol

Oh, I do. I like hip hop very much. Got hook'd up on it at a young age, and for a time I listened hip-hop exclusively (idiotic, I know - but now I know better). Sometimes the sheer complexity of rhymes amazed me; the depth and clever metaphors foremost.

Now, the artist (to name a few that I like): Wu-Tang (especially The GZA/Genius), CunninLynguists, Gravediggaz, The Roots, Gang Starr, Cypress Hill, Black Eyed Peas (yes, before Fergie they actually made music, and their first album is quite good), Aesop Rock, A Tribe Called Quest, Dälek, etc.

If you're new to hip-hop, to begin with I'd recommend A Tribe Called Quest (although, it's actually jazz-hop).

In hip-hop it's all about the lyrics, trust me. :)

Elaborate?
It's about delivery, style, concepts. The best way to make an example of this is listening to Em's "No love", and then listening to Kayne "love lockdown" video, and grasp the differences in just..........everything. It's totally different types of music.

By writing "hip hop", do you mean the whole culture or just rap music?
Because the music is called rap, not hip hop.
Hip Hop is the music and rapping is what the master of ceremonies does over the top

Honestly, it is hard for me to really get into any genre or band. I am a bit picky as far as that goes. I don't like something just because it is linked to a certain genre, or hate it for that same reason.

Hip-hop though...guess I am indifferent to it.

As long as I don't call it "Hip Hop", which always reminds me of that Kangaroo Jack show from Big Daddy.
Yes, I like rap. There's tons of great stuff out there.
Like that.
