Do you like hoarding things in games?

I too suffer greatly from both obsessive weapon hoarding and gaint robot crab syndrome. Frequently, I'm forced to clean out my inventory because I want to get more stuff. The first priority is ALWAYS getting more inventory space.
Failing that, more characters so they can equip my stash of loot also works.

In Fallout 3 I had my Nuka collection(Bottles, trucks, explosives, and meat). I also collected as many Unique armor and weapons that I could.

I'm surprisingly sentimental with DLC-exclusive items or 'prizes' that I've claimed from my victims. For example, I keep the chunk of my brain in a jar (from Point Lookout) on a side table in my Megaton House. I refused to drop my collection of knife spears and such in Dead Money even though...

I collect all sorts of crap really, mostly without knowing it.

Fallout 3. After Operation Anchorage, I went over my weight limit for inventory, and I was forced to walk all the way back to Megaton. Took forever.

Funnily enough, this is my advice to you as well

In the ruins nearby when you emerge from the Outcasts base, there's a few lockers and such you can store crap in. I just dumped the heavy crap there, teleported (?) to Megaton and dropped everything off, then came back for it.

Just make sure you remember which locker it is...

In borderlands I get sentimental with my guns, this never normally happens and as a result I had a level 16 shotgun while I was level 28, so it depends on the game.

Just with useful items. In Fallout: New Vegas I carried enough ammo, Purified Water and food to finish the game on Hardcore twice, even with ammo having weight and all.

No, I hate it. I just can't bring myself not to, in case I need it all.
I use inventory weight hacks in Fallout, because I can't just leave anything un-taken or leave without a weapon for anything.

I'm not so much an item hoarder as I am a money hoarder in RPGs. I gather everything, and I mean EVERYTHING, just to sell them, so my character can (in theory ofc) have their own vault full of money to swim around in.
Though I do tend to hoard ammo and water in New Vegas...

Yes i do, but I never want to. For example, with fallout 3 I kept my rocket launcher, flamer and mini nuke thing, and never used them throughout the game, thinking that maybe I'll have to face something really diffiuclt soon, but that was never really the case, and when it was something hard, I would completly forget about them lol.

With sentimental items, same response. In oblivion, I had someone's head, many human hearts, 2 argonian hearts, many vials of blood, Hist Sap, tons of books, weapons that had done me good, armour that had meant something to my character... But I always need somewhere to put and display it.

I don't like it, but I do. I somehow convince myself "But I'll need it later!". S.T.A.L.K.E.R and Fallout/Oblivion are big Culprits. "I might need that Gun later!" I never use any gun but this one Rifle and this one Pistol. "I might want to wear this armour later!" My current armour is far better and I will never have a reason to wear that armour. "But it could have a use later!" It's a Toaster.

On S.T.A.L.K.E.R. CoP I like to have ridiculous amounts of extra stuff in my stashes in the major areas, at least 5 good condition assault rifles, a wide range of other guns, over 1000 rounds of both main types of AR ammo and a lot of medical kits and miscellaneous items. If I end up not having roughly this amount of stuff, I'll roam around for ages looking for it.

And a weird thing about the first game. The NPC's are always stashing their stuff in places scattered around the world, but you don't really realise just how useful that can be until towards the end of the game where you have way too much cool stuff to carry, so you end up storing it everywhere like a freakin' madman.

We share this then. In Stalker SoC, I had a stash in the bar with about 30 rifles in it. Atleast one of each, and dupli or triplicates of the most popular rifles (such as the LMR-300, or Vintar sniper). In this stash I also dumped all the unique weapons, even if they were useless to me. Since armour is worth a million in that game, I have another stash dedicated to hoarding all the suits of armor I find. In this stash I also dump the artifacts and mutant parts, so that when I need 'm for a mission, I can sell instantly.

One of my most ridicilious things in the collection was the RPG-7 and the Grenade launcher - both are two heavy and to overkill for the game.

I don't know whether I "like" hoarding stuff in games, but I do tend to hang on to consumables as long as possible. Don't use that Potion now - what if there's a stronger monster in the next room?!

Armour, weapons etc, on the other hand, I tend to sell as quickly as possible if they're no longer useful.

Only in games with theoretically infinite storage spaces... there are some games where you have to travel with as little as possible which means a lot of selling and chucking away :/

You could say that since I had 50 Hunting Rifles in Fallout 3 at one point. Though I was collecting them to repair the one I had been using and selling repaired weapons to vendors was one of my main sources of income.

Oh yeah. Fallout Three was my hoarding game. Thousands of everything, no mods (360 here). I stockpiled 400+ mini nukes even though I'd never use them and I knew I'd never use them.

I love hoarding things in game, especially Bethesda games. At least when it comes to the Elder Scrolls games. I don't think I ever got a house in Fallout 3, and I certainly never killed anybody in order to take their home. Life is hard enough in the wastelands...

In oblivion though, my house is always stacked with random junk. Battlehorn castle which I use as my main HQ has a huge selection of weapons, armors, and other things. I also like to collect books and random trinkets/currency. I can't tell you how many platnium bars, gold nuggets, and random coins I've got.

I hoard unique items. I never carry around common gear - for example I won't carry around laser rifles if every third mook drops one.

My epic Morrowind save had five strongholds (Telvanni chain allows you to procure all three at once of the House strongholds!) of which my Mournhold stead held all of the gear from that DLC, my Hlaalu had all of the vanilla gear (ALL of it. Every last unique item) and Solstheim had all of the items from that surprisingly rich ground.

Got less time these days, won't be emulating that again!

I have a compulsive need to collect shinies. Doesn't matter if I'm full on rupees, I'M GETTING THAT FUCKING RUPEE!
