I really love astrophysics. I can't tell why but It's one of the few things I'm really interested in. The only other thing I'm nearly as interested as in astrophysics would be new advanced technology.

Science is awesome. If I ever had to choose who's my hero(s), it would be the Mythbusters team. That show, and the new Universe show with Steven Hawking is just cool.

I've got to say, the latter is really cool. Giving people the ideas of the possibilities that are out there, just waiting to be discovered. Gotta love it.

Being a member of the Youth Association of Science I have to say YES!
Science is beautiful, just beautiful.

this summer I'm startin as an undergraduate (sorry, I don't know if that's the right way to say it in English) in Physics and Astronomy. Namely particle physics, string theory and practically everything to do with astronmy interest me deeply.

Fo' realz yo? I mean, that isn't your tattoo, is it?
Yeah, it's real, and mine. That was a terrible pic right after it was healed, but it's still vibrant 2 years later.
Ain't nothing wrong with your dedication that's for sure.

I seriously love me some Science! I grew up as the class science geek, basically devoting all my spare time to reading every scrap of material on its various subjects. Chemistry? fuck yeah!! Physics? yes pleas!! Astrophysics is my drug of choice and Geology is the love of my life. Astronomy, what greater human endeavor can be conceived of than the exploration and understanding the Universe!?

Undergraduate is right.

Odd that you would do astronomy and particle physics, they're radically different. Astronomy and astrophysics generally have more to do with relativity, whereas particle physics is quantum mechanics which are (At the moment) two inconsolable ideas.

No, not at all. I don't like science. Being a Humeaian Sceptic gives me ample reasons to do so.

Up yours Newton! And Einstein can suck it.

I like science enough to have a PhD in Biochemistry and work in a cancer research lab. Yeah, I guess I like science!

I like science as a whole, but dislike the subject in school. Science is great for what it has done for us, but it's always been my worst subject. Except for Biology. I'm pretty good at it.

Oooooh care to share what you researched for the PhD?(Not to pry, just very curious, and to my experience, doctors like sharing what they researched.)

ah, sorry, what I meant was that I at the moment enjoy reading about both quantum mechanics and relativity, and I've actually yet to make up my mind. As for what I'm going to study is currently the astronomy courses, but that can change. Cleverly noted, though :)
so, earlier in this thread you mentioned chemistry, do you have any degrees?

I've been reading Bryson's 'A Short History Of Nearly Everything' and am finding it utterly fascinating. For those who don't know, he condenses basically all the advances and facts we have found out about science into a very readable novel. I highly recommend it.

I also love Physics and Biology.

So yeah, I guess I like science.

Working on a BA or BS, I'm honestly not sure which, but probably a BA (Probably would've preferred a BS, but I don't like big schools) Either way it will be in Chemistry, with a minor in Mathematics.
