My name real name is Welsh. It has a weird "y" in it that makes it impossible for the casual reader to pronounce correctly. Teachers, lawyers, employers; you name it. Only one in ten people pronounce it right the first time and that one in ten is usually on vacation. I don't tend to use it unless I have to.

Despite all that, I like it. I did one of those name checks where you pay a fee and have your name checked against census counts all over the world. I am the *only* person with my full name (first, middle, and last) in the entire world (that we know of). That has to make it kind of cool.

I'm pretty fond of Blake, except that apparently it's an androgynous name. Though, for a girl it means Light, and for boys it means Dark, which personally i think is pretty cool. I just need to hook-up with a girl named Blake, and we could become some J-RPG super hero.

It's not a question of liking it or not, my parents gave me the name and i live with it. What i don't understand, is why so much hide behind wrong names, this feels mad to me.
Best regards

My name is Nicholas Paul Gilliland.

Although I always go by "Nick", I love my full name. Goes well with my title, "Destroyer of Worlds".

I hate my first name, which is why I prefer people to call me by my last name. Barke (pronounced Barky)
I hate the name "Taylor" I can't imagine why my parents wanted to name me that.

I used to love my surname, O'Reilly, it was unique where I lived and my grandfather instilled a sense of family pride. I got married late last year and pleaded with my husband to let me double barrel it or something, ANYTHING, now I'm a plain old Smith - no offense to the Smiths out there but honestly it is the thing I like least about my hubby, his tragically pedestrian last name.

My name is Carl and I don't like it at all. I think as far as names go it's very plain and boring. It also doesn't roll off the tounge nicely. That shift from the R to the L is just awkward and hard to say without sounding retarded. Go ahead, say it a few times. Really try to enunciate the last two letters. Now keep in mind that the name is supposed to be only one syllable long.

Funny side note, for my middle name, my parents named me after my father's boss at the time. WTF?
