Do you own games you haven't played yet?

I remember when I was a kid getting a new game was a rare occurrence. Not only were they more expensive (I've seen SNES games for upwards of 69.99, sometimes 79.99), money was also harder to come by. I had to save my allowance for months to be able to afford a game. It would be an exciting event and I could never wait to go home and pop it in.

Fast forward to nowadays. If you hold out on a game just a few months sometimes you can pay a fraction of the original price. Even better, older games from last gen are as cheap at 6.99 or 9.99. I have a robust PS2 collection that really didn't cost that much.

Because of this I have backlogs of games, many of which have never even been put in the system yet. Hell, I have a few games I got for Christmas nearly 2 months ago that I haven't even gotten around to.

So, what about you? Do you have a hefty backlog of titles, some you haven't even played, or do you always pop it in as soon as you buy it?

Tons ranginf from nes to ps1 . I am a console gamer so no huge steam backlog . I must have around 20 unplayed games . But i am slowly getting through all of them . My new years resolution for 2011 was to reduce my backlog by half . Back then i must of had around 50 games . Now only twenty . Plus the new games i buy . Just to give you an idea of how much i play video games . When peope talk about no life losers who play games all day , they are refering to me.

I have a backlog of around 20 games on Steam, that I have yet to play. Killing Floor seems to take most of my time, along with stuff like my education, job and social life :p

I also have a couple of PS2/Xbox/Xbox360/PS3 titles I haven't played yet, but only around 1-3 per console.

I had plenty, and then the holiday sales came along and made things even worse. I've been working my way through since then though, and I'm down to a reasonable number. What's remaining is as follows...

Console games:
- Skyward Sword
- Rayman Origins
- Final Fantasy VII via PS store (Actually, this one I started but then got distracted after about 60-90 mins and haven't gone back to it)

Steam games:
- STALKER: Clear Sky (Skipped it on release but it should be OK with the "complete" mod. If not I'll just replay one of the other two again.)
- Red Faction: Guerilla
- Dawn of War 2 (got it as a prize in the steam thing, which is pretty awesome)
- Mount and Blade: Warband (I've played the demo and I just know it's going to steal all of my time so I've put it off)
- X-Com: UFO Defense
- The Oddbox (though I played through Munch's Oddysee on the Xbox)
- I also haven't played the Rise of the Samurari DLC for Shogun 2 yet

GOG:
- Planescape: Torment
- Baldur's Gate 2
- Arcanum: of Steamworks and Magick Obscura
- Freespace 2
- Jagged Alliance 2
- Sacrifice
- Ultima VII and the two Ultima Underworld games
- Enclave

There is some serious gaming brilliance ahead of me.

On a side note, despite all of this... what were the last three games I played? Dark Messiah of Might and Magic, and the first two Penumbra games. Finished them all for the second time. Tomorrow I must start an unstarted game. I'm thinking Arcanum.

I bought Infamous 2 sometime last year for full price, I still haven't played it. Annoyingly, I can now buy Infamous 2 for a fraction of the price. If only I had waited until I was ready to play it before I bought it, I could hav saved myself a fair bit of cash. Yes, I'm an idiot.

On Steam I've got:

-From Dust
-Amnesia TDD
-Warhammer 40k: Dawn of War II (and the Chaos Rising DLC)

Other:

-Castlevania Order of Ecclesia (DS)
-Chrono Trigger (DS)

Not THAT hefty of a backlog I guess.

About 3/4 of my steam library comes from sales and bundles, and roughly 1/2 of my steam library is unplayed. :/

Although recently there haven't been as many amazing sales, and I've had a chance to catch up on some games.

A few from the indie bundles. Haven't played much of Odin Sphere because I'm trying to make it look not-shit on my widescreen, plus I have other games to play. Pretty much everything else has been played, but not quite finished.

Quite a few, actually.

I have The Witcher for the PC for nearly a year now, but I haven't been able to make it work on my computer for some weird reason.

I've also played almost no Just Cause 2, a game which I've also owned for about a year.

I bought Portal 2 on Steam for like $5 during a sale a few months back. Just haven't really had the time to get around to it.

Let's see...

Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots is collecting dust on my shelf.

My brother has recently got himself InFamous 2, and spoiled the ending for me, so I'm not motivated to play.

Prince of Persia: Red and Blue Scarf hero is also left untouched.

And Deus Ex: HR, too, is sobbing in loneliness.

I've got a couple of old PC titles I bought from the bargain bin that I haven't played yet (mostly because my PC won't run them anymore), but other than that, no. I've got loads of games I haven't finished though.

I have mirrors edge... I know it is a game I will enjoy, and that I will play it and complete it one day... but that day will be when there isn't another game that I want to play before it... I've had it since a few months after it was released! :/

I also have a load of games on GOG that I got in the christmas sale, but knowing that my laptop wont run them! I will have them for when I have a better laptop! :p (Yes... in it's current state, my lap top will not run the original Fallout... I tried!

I have about 235 games for my PS2. I've played about 60 of them, of which half of them I actually completed. As for the rest... Well, let's just say I'll know what to do during my retirement. (If I ever manage to get that old.)

Aaaaaand also about 15 PS3 games, 8 X360 games and 4 Wii games that have never even felt the warmth of a console laser.

I have Heavy Rain and GOW collection from the PSP to play yet. I came into some money (and now it's all sticky) so I bought a few PS3 games at the same time. I would have started heavy rain but theres something on the disc and I'm too lazy to go wash it off.

I got Arkham City for Christmas and haven't played it yet because I got several other games including Skyrim and Resistance 3, and I also got Dragon Age Origins back from my sister (in a rare instance where I bought a game, and let her borrow it before I could play it) so I've been playing all of those and haven't opened Arkham City yet.

I also have mainstays that I play often like sports games (Madden, NBA Jam, The Show, Tiger Woods) and I also play Rock Band just about every day so I just haven't had the time to.

Oh, I also got God of War 3 for my birthday in 2010 and still haven't played it yet. Not sure why though.
