I used to play the guitar a lot. Now I stopped and can play the mouth harp to a proffesional level.

Guitar sounds brilliant and you can make some very nice tunes, but I just felt I didn't wish to continue, I think this may have come down to my guitar teacher. What a hippy prick. Maybe I should dust down the old boy for one last trip.
Self teaching man, it's the way to go. Sure you might miss on some of the nuances of your instrument but you pick them up as you go along. Plus you only have to play stuff that you enjoy playing.

Some very tasty licks there. And what guitar is that in the photo? I like it very muchly.
That guitar is made by a company called Eko. I couldn't tell you anymore about it really because there is almost no markings on it.

I play the theremin.
and to safe you all the trouble of looking that up:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Theremin

completely self-built, self-tuned and self-taught. Though I still can't play anything with a moderatly fast stacatto, people say it's pretty good. I don't play much though, as it needs to be retuned for every room you're in, and how close it is to the TV and such.

I played the trumpet in middle/high school band, I play electric guitar now and I tried to learn drums(to impress a girl) but I never really got into it. And I'm now hoping to learn to play the piano.

Also I have the most AWESOME guitar EVER. It's the epitome of guitaritude.

I play trumpet, saxophone(alto, mainly), trombone, french horn, flute, clarinet, ocarina, piano, bass guitar(prefer 5-string over 4, have both acoustic and electric), guitar(have multiple electrics and one craptacular acoustic), mandolin, steel drum... Pretty much anything I pick up, I can play. Kinda cool, being in a ska band, cause I get to play whatever instrument I feel like at the time.

I've been playing the drums on and off since highschool and I'm teaching myself guitar...it's a pain to learn to play left handed on a right handed electric. I'd like to eventually learn how to play the paino and bass guitar as well.

Cheers

Piano, and vocals. Both in a rock band. Although, I'm leaning towards just doing the piano and finding another vocalist. As I kinda suck.

I love playing the piano, I'll never know why. You can't showboat like with a guitar or drums. A real piano, IE one that's not electric, only has one sound to it. A real piano can't be plugged into an amp (I think)

And I think it's the best damn instrument I've ever played in my life. They'd better make a "Piano Hero" or something like that. I would rock. Been playing for 10 years now, but I am a little rusty.

2 and bit years of bass..

Mr Mcgee - Im gonna be honest.. I hate the thunderbird. I owned one last year as my 2nd bass and yeah.. Hate. I cant get over the neck dive, as soon as I took my hands of the thing the neck went right down and the strap came off... Then theres the tone issue.. You can have low and muddy or low and muddy. Its an allright tone if your Kings of Leon [http://youtube.com/watch?v=UEh8OL0Jj-0] but if you want to play a bunch of diffrent styles then its useless. I've got a fender jazz now which is defently the most comfy, best looking and tone aweosme bass I've played.

Dispite the handycap that is the thunderbird you played pretty well! Maybe like.. Bend your left wrist so your thumb is touching the back of the fretboard.. That will give you a much bigger span then if your all cramped up (somthing I learnt from my teacher =P)

Im gonna be a rock star one day (phht..)

=)

Aw man... I'm so jealous that you've got a fender jazz. My first bass was a fender jazz imitation. How much did it cost you? Those things are damn expensive. I bought my thunderbird a while ago and since I'm self taught I actually know bugger all about issues of tone. Though I think you can get a decent variety of sounds out of it - http://youtube.com/watch?v=dLGtmBagbuM I should be a lot better than I actually am, since I've been playing for 7 years now.

The neck plunge is a bit of a bugger, but I make the sacrifice because I love the way it looks. Plus it's fine if you just keep your hands on it.

Electric and of course acoustic guitar although I almost never touch my acoustic since electric is so much more fun and flexible in the sound department.

I play electric guitar in band; I suck, hate playing full chords and no way can play bar chords, but one thing I've learned is that simple music can still be good music. Just look at 'Smoke on the Water'...really simple riff that's legendary!

I've been drumming for quite a while now (since 1992) and while I have'nt been in a band since 2001 (I dedicated my self full time to my profession) I still play my drumset everyday and every once in a while get together with some friends to do some jamming.

I'm seriously considering taking up learning guitar, my suster has an old accoustic that needs re-stringing so it would be a start. I guess Rock Band drums don't count?
