It feels like stumbling across someone else's porn that caters to a fetish so obscure I wouldn't even recognize it as such if it wasn't for the prominently visible butt.
Yeah, tits and ass is a really obscure fetish.
Only when they aren't attached to a human body (at least until sex-bots become a thing).
Nope, not obscure in any context. Nice fake outrage, though.

You're right. Still, most people prefer them attached to a woman.

Entirely irrelevant to the question of whether or not a given fetish is obscure. It's thinly-veiled kink-shaming behind a facade of feigned innocence and ignorance.

I'm calling Poe's law here. This genuinely made my laugh.

It just speaks to me, more than anything, of incompetent character design. If the effort was to make a quirky but sexy character, they've failed; she's a blandish imitation of ipod/Portal robot design, combined with unconvincing jiggle physics and comical body proportions. If she was meant to be a weird robot who is sexy within the context of the world (that is to say, if she was some sex robot designed by a futuristic, sexist society), it also fails in that I would have a hard time thinking some future pervert would want a woman to look like this - they've surely want something with an impossibly shaped anime girl or superhero body? To take Bayonetta for example, a lot of players don't actually find her sexy, but they can still easily buy the idea that she is meant to be sexy and is convincingly sexy to the people in her world. Looking at this game though, I have no idea what the devs are trying to say.

Whatever the intention was of the character design, it fails. And its exacerbated by an overly close third person view in a game that appears to be platforming based, whilst in tight tiny rooms. That probably annoys me more than any issues one could have with sexist videogame characters.
Not seen many fertility goddess statues, have you?

Surely, anyone who disagrees with your opinions must be engaging in satire, since you're perfect and omniscient.

It's kink-shaming.

When compared to what exactly?
When compared to something that can be posted as a snide reply to criticism of female representation in video games and actually be convincing.
Other poster was spot on with the Guybrush Threepwood comment.

To simplify the Guybrush argument, every female character is a representation of all women. Here you are in a thread criticizing the idea of a sexualized female character in a game that was clearly not made for you so your proving that point.

Of course I remember this game! It has the weird blancmange boob woman with no face in it! How could I forget.

I'm concerned for anyone who finds that thing sexy.

To be entirely honest, this game could be brilliant and I still wouldn't play it because I have no interest in playing as a faceless boob monster.

Right. I know, who could ever find something so blatantly not-sexy sexy, right? Right. Right.

*cough*

(OH MAN THAT BOOTY. Also, it looks incredibly frustrating to play.)

And I am concerned for anyone so lacking in empathy that they can't even conceive of other people enjoying things that they don't enjoy.

Uh huh. Which is why my post ended in "if it wasn't for the prominently visible butt".

It's the being attached to a faceless shooty robot that makes me think of obscure fetish porn.

It's like if someone tried to make an orchard sexy by nailing a rubber arse to each tree.

But you don't actually think it's obscure; you believe that people with a fetish for robots (or tress with butts, or whatever the case may be) are wrong. Bad. Lacking. Whatever word you want to use, the point is that you're trying to mask the fact that you associate negative value with this fetish with a confused and incredulous persona.

There's no need to indicate that you don't understand a fetish. A fetish, by its nature, can't be understood by someone who doesn't have it. It's like trying to justify why someone likes the taste of tomatoes. There's some chemical stuff going on in the brain, sure, but there isn't a "reason" in the sense of clear cause and effect.

But not being able to understand doesn't preclude us from empathizing with a person who has that fetish. Nor does it follow that we should look down on them. Which you are. Don't bother trying to obfuscate.

Dude, the fuck?

Well, I wasn't confused and incredulous before, but your post quickly changed that.

So, uhh... please quote the exact part where I said anything even mildly critical or kink-shamey about people who like robot butts.

I'm not referring to the beliefs you pretend to hold, but the ones you actually hold. This is obvious from my post. Read it again.

Ah yes, you looked at my post in which I said X and made the insightful conclusion that I believe Y.

Well done.

So... I'm going to have vehemently disagree with your approval for the Rape of Nanking. Yes, yes, I know you only spoke of fetishes and robot butts but I have seen through your mask. I see the beliefs you actually hold. Don't bother trying to obfuscate.

Gee whiz, you're so snarky! It's too bad I never expressed either disapproval or approval on the issue, so your analysis has nothing to stand on. The same is not true in your case. Again, maybe try actually understanding what you're reading.
Alright buddy, I'm invoking Poe's Law on this one.

I don't know if you're being sincere or if you've just made your account to try your hand at a bit of shit-stirring.

If the former then, uhh... keep fighting the good fight I guess? If the latter then best of luck to you.

Chill out dude, I was mostly kidding.
If you wanna bone the faceless boob monster, well then, you do you.

I mean, I still think it's weird. But to each their own.

Yes I have.

That has no bearing on what I said though, seeing as how the protagonist is not designed to invoke a fertility god. Also fertility gods were necessarily even seen as sexy in their own right; the very idea that they are even meant to be Gods, represent fertility, or be an prehistoric nation's concept of sexy is largely speculative.

If this is some meta-level horror attempt at the creepier rungs of self-rationalising society, then we'll played, developers, I guess. However, there are a couple of reasons to think this is not the case. Not those couple of reasons...
