Do you try to catch them all?

At some point in every Pokemon game I try to catch them. I do this by organising all the boxes numbered 1-30, 31-60, etc. Putting each Pokemon in their respective number. I do this to help me find out where the gaps are in my pokedex and find out what I still need to get instead of just going through the pokedex. Apparently according to my girlfriends friends who play Pokemon I am some sort of psychopath for doing this.

Do you do anything like this similar to me in Pokemon or in any other game? Do you find this weird or psychopathic?

No, because there is practically no reward for doing so, and it involves evolving a lot of shitty pokemon.
Besides, no turn based game can hold my attention long enough to do that.

No. I get my desired party (Six eeveelutions) and then I'll just catch whichever new ones I come across, even if I already have the pre-volutions of them, like catching a Rapidash after I've already caught a Ponyta.

I don't have the patience.

I just catch my Dream Team and then whatever Pokemon Catches my eye and the ones i know i don't have, if i come across them, i don't actively hunt for them.

If i happen to fill my Poke-Dex while im playing then yay.

Usually, no, I don't bother with getting all of the Pokemon for each game - my usual tactic is get my main team as early on as possible and then just catch whatever I come across.

However, I have managed to fully complete a few Pokedexes - I've fully completed Red Version, Crystal Version and Emerald Version's respective National Pokedex or equivalent, and I'm currently trying to fill SoulSilver Version's, with only around 130-odd left to go.

Yeah, I'm working on my Johto pokedex in SoulSilver at the moment... I have about 200/250. I also have a Openoffice document where I've listed everything I'm missing.

My box categories are:
1) Fully evolved.
2) Evolves by leveling up.
3) Evolves by happiness/evolution stones
4) Evolves by trading

... I think I put too much thought into this.

A friend of mine had ALL 493 pokemon in his box all of them and he proved it to me.

But then a few days later he turned it on to play his game and bam the game said something like "file is broken" in fancier words. So he had to start a new game.

I defeat the game and then do exactly as you do just going 1-20s 21-40s etc, and then an exclusive box for legendaries.

I caught all (Except Latias/Latios, don't remember which) the ones available in Sapphire.

Every other game, I picked my team of 6 before I even started and only got those ones when I could.

On the topic of things people find you crazy for doing in the Pokemon Games, in Gold/Silver/Crystal and the new remakes, once I got to the top of the lighthouse and that one Gymleader is like "OHNOES, THIS POKEMON IS TEH SICK, PLZ GO GET TEH MEDICINE FROM THAT ONE ISLAND OR ELSE IT WILL DIE D:" I always zipped over to the island and zipped right back before doing any of the things the game apparently expected you to do over on that one island because I was under the impression there was some sense of urgency.

I knew a guy who caught them all on just one wild trip to Vegas...oh, you're not talking about STDs? Oh, Pokemon? No, never caught them all. Oh, and that seems a little obsessive compulsive to me but I've never collected all of anything in any game.

Honestly, I just couldn't be bothered. I always tried but eventually gave up, I have nowhere near the attention span required. Way too much grind and effort, plus it was always hard to find someone to trade with.
