Seems like they're starting to develop and grow the doctor what with him moving from being quite pacifistic and diplomatic to ordering the deaths of House and countless silence, but don't get me wrong, such an iconic character growing is great.
I've been thinking that too. And it really struck me when he said "Another Ood I failed to save," in a really off-the-cuff manner, before quickly moving onto other things. Interesting development indeed.

to be fair he did give house a chance, if he hadn't tried to kill them they wouldn't have been in a position to kill in turn

Actually, it was the first Matt Smith episode I've liked. I thought Neil Gaiman's writing was superb, and the lady playing Idris was very good though I can't remember her name. She gave just enough crazy that it was believable but not so much that it was in the way.
I also liked the adventuring in the TARDIS' corridors with House playing with their minds.

Also: Timey-wimey > Spacey-wacey
Spacey-wacey will never beat Timey-Wimey!
EVAH!

Thank you, but I'll admit, I don't think I care enough to be able to remember that in a week. Hopefully commenting on it will cement Suranne Jones who played Idris in my memory a little more firmly, but it probably won't.

I really enjoyed seeing the TARDIS interact outwith breaking all the time. Very interesting to see her with the Doctor and some really good chemistry between Smith and Suranne Jones. Also: the TARDIS has a crush on Rory.

Different TARDISes. The Doctor's TARDIS was being propelled by something entirely different than the TARDIS matrix, and the unshielded console was being powered by the TARDIS we know so well.

Also, she just thought Rory was the pretty one. Admittedly she was right, but neither are too hard on the eyes.

I'm not sure to what the first part of your post is referring to?

Also, thank you for correcting my post, I shall go and do the same right now. That actress was really good and her name escaped me.

Possibly my favorite ever episode.
The House was one scary mother fucker.
One question though, how did their makeshift tardis protect them in space, it didn't even have walls?
I assume the same way that the Blue TARDIS protects her occupants when they open her doors in space, shields of some sort.

It was nice to see Arthur Darvill have a chance to do some good acting too.

"Hello."
But the makeshift Tardis was just the engine, no kind of field generator or anything.

also,
Doctor: "It's the TARDIS, and a woman!"
Amy: "Did you wish really really hard?"
i rofl'd
That was a great line.

I think it was more than just an engine, as they were talking about lots of components that they were adding. And they never actually said that it was just an engine. So I assume it contained some kind of shielding as they knew they were going to be travelling through space. Afterall, it could fly and materialise by phasing into the Blue TARDIS like a regular TARDIS, so why not be able to shield itself from space like a TARDIS?

Absolutely loved the episode except for 1 or 2 small things.
They really need to put Rory in an orange hoodie...

I mean, the corridor with Rory's corpse and all the writing terrified me. Actually, so did the old Rory. The whole bit with the corridors in fact. Loved it, but it definitely creeped me out.
That bit is going to haunt me tonight when I try to get to sleep, being trapped in a corridor and tortured for thousands of years until you hate the person you love. Nightmare fuel!

Doctor who is something I really should get into, but never have the time. Im always busy on Saturday afternoon. I got quite emotional at the end, knowing the Tardis had been completely concious and living throughout all the Doctors travels, and was only able to talk to him for so brief a time, also the chemistry between Matt Smith and the Tardis actress was fantastic. A really brilliant episode, full of everything Doctor Who should be, suspense, danger, cracking one-liners, an emotional story, and a little teasing insight into the Doctors character and history.

Sorry, I must have misread your post and thought you were unsure as to how the console got inside the TARDIS without breaking the universe.

Awesome, awesome, AWESOME episode. This is easily the best episode since...damn, a LONG time.

I really loved the TARDIS as a character and her whole relationship with the Doctor and I thought the stuff with Amy and Rory in the coridors with brilliant nightmare fuel. It reminded me a lot of Portal strangely; a onmipent god like force tormenting those trapped within it's walls.

Trust Neil Gaiman bring out such a great episode, I really hope he get's another chance to write for the show. I just hope the rest of the series keeps to this kind of quality, I've been pretty disappointed with the first 3.

It was a really good episode, Gaiman's writing was really clever. I though seeing more of the TARDIS was a nice touch, and a lot of good references.

However.

TIME LORDS. TIME LADIES. THAT'S HOW IT FUCKING WORKS.

Just... no, okay? No gender swapping. Romana might have been able to choose her regenerative form, but you can't change gender, that's not how it works. If they make the next Doctor a female I'll be really annoyed... I'm just going to pretend it didn't happen. =D

On the plus side, more creepy lady in the wall next week =)

A lot of interesting points in this is episode!

I think someone needs to sort out the Oods genetic ability to be taken control off and have a different coloured glowing eyes!
Finally, canon confirmation that a Time Lord CAN regenerate between male and female forms!
Love the human TARDIS! and the makeshift one!
The TARDIS has been with the Doctor for 700 years.
And Smith in Eccleston/Tennant's TARDIS!

Fear me, I've killed hundred's of Time Lords.
Fear me, I've killed all of them.

So much information in one episode!
I'm actually really disappointed that the Doctor didn't find any other Time Lords :(

Bunk beds are cool!

"The only water in the forest is the river."
I missed the part where they said a Time Lord can regenerate between male and female?? What happened?

Whats wrong with bunk beds?? Lol, he doesn't get that they are now married!! :D

I was in near tears when we saw that...

Rory had died, and he had written things like "Die Amy, die" on the walls. Even though it was just House messing with Amy's head, and Rory didn't really die, but you know what I mean.

I was actually quite moved.

Bunk beds are cool! It's a bed with a ladder!

Because having any sort of established lore is for pansies!

I dunno, somehow this episode really struck me as having a major pile-up of (largely unexplained) ideas that you'd expect to find on fanfiction.net, not in the actual show, and certainly not from the pen of Neil Gaiman. Oh well~

River is a character. Most obvious thing there.

Doctor Who is the type of show that would play on the body being 70% water. So it could possibly refer to the water content of her body.

Obviously an episode in this season will take place in a forest. I'd be damned suprised if it wasn't. But what kind? Probably not ordinary trees. Perhaps the tree people we saw in one episode, though I doubt it. A forest of people, bodies, vegative lifeforms of some kind, computers, something holographic?

Plus there's the silence (Oh doctor who writers, you do love OBVIOUS foreshadowing, don't you?).

Plus once again, if it isn't human or an old nemesis the doctor will murder the shit out of it.
