Kind of disappointed we never met The Corsair, he sounded like a fun guy/gal. I like the idea of dozens of "good" timelords with cool names involving "The (blank)"

Seems like they're starting to develop and grow the doctor what with him moving from being quite pacifistic and diplomatic to ordering the deaths of House and countless silence, but don't get me wrong, such an iconic character growing is great.
Not really the Doctors always had genocide up his sleeve, it's just that number 10 was the most vocal about violence (and often very hypocritical).

The Doctor has always been uncompromising, ruthless and quite brutal towards threats to the human race. He steered a fleet of Ice Warriors into the sun in "The Seeds of Death", he sentenced Sutekh to death by eternal time corridor in "Pyramids of Mars", he poisoned people in "Vengeance on Varos", he boiled the Krillitanes in their own oil in "School Reunion", and while he hasn't wiped the Cybermen or the Daleks off the face of the universe, it hasn't been for lack of trying. (Pretty much every incarnation has wiped out a Dalek army or three.)

"It's a TARDIS within a TARDIS within a TARDIS"
More like a TARDIS (Idris) in a TARDIS (Makeshift) within a TARDIS (9/10th regen control room) within a TARDIS (TARDIS :p)

Teehee

Anyway great ep, I felt that it would have been cool to see other control rooms and more of the tardis, also interesting question.

"Doctor, do you have a room?"

A lot of interesting points in this is episode!

I think someone needs to sort out the Oods genetic ability to be taken control off and have a different coloured glowing eyes!
Finally, canon confirmation that a Time Lord CAN regenerate between male and female forms!
Love the human TARDIS! and the makeshift one!
The TARDIS has been with the Doctor for 700 years.
And Smith in Eccleston/Tennant's TARDIS!

Fear me, I've killed hundred's of Time Lords.
Fear me, I've killed all of them.

So much information in one episode!
I'm actually really disappointed that the Doctor didn't find any other Time Lords :(

Bunk beds are cool!

"The only water in the forest is the river."
I missed the part where they said a Time Lord can regenerate between male and female?? What happened?

Whats wrong with bunk beds?? Lol, he doesn't get that they are now married!! :D
Right at the start, when the Doctor's telling Amy and Rory that there is a living Time Lord out there. When he's describing the tattoo of the Time Lord (can't remember his name of the top of my head), the Doctor says that all his or her regenerations had the tattoo.

fantastic episode and clearly the best of series 6 so far. TARDIS always felt like a charector to some degree so bringing her out like this was just awesome, the relationship/chemistry between her and the Doctor HAD to work for the episode to work and Smith and Surrane Jones nailed it.

although, while i love the idea of the TARDIS archiving all the old control rooms, having them go into one of the older classic Who control rooms would have been nicer than the Tennant one...im mean its not like its been THAT long since Tennant left right?

I guess that Eccleston\Tennant TARDIS was a lot more cheaper to put there than try to replicate the Fourth Doctor TARDIS for exemple...

Hated it, so far this season has been rubbish. They really need to regenerate Matt Smith, fire the writing and production teams and bring in competent people.

Maybe if they employ the people who make supernatural or Battlestar Galactica we wouldn't get such terrible, terrible episodes.

I used to be such a huge Dr.Who fan, but I am almost at the point where I am going to stop watching it. It really started going downhill in season 4, and now it has fallen off a cliff.

I liked it.
Once again, character driven.
However the whole Amy/Rory thing needs to take a break. Last three episodes they've been playing on that. We get it, they're married and they're in love.

Also, a very old doctor with a very young mind. Very childish in a lot of ways, and kind of afraid it seems.

"The only water in the forest is the river." - All I could think of was the "Silence in the Library" episode where we first meet River Song, seeing as they referred to the library as a forest.
I kind of wish they would tie up the River plot at this stage, I love her but it's been going on too long, I'm stating to lose faith in Moffat.

Good episode though, I'm glad that they didn't make the TARDIS able to talk permanently but it was lovely to see their relationship manifest for one episode. Possibly one of the nicest relationships ever created in the new seasons of the Who.

I read awhile back that Gaiman said his episode would be on the emotional level of Blink and The Girl in the Fireplace, and damn did he ever nail it. The quips, the dialogue, the reactions, the keeping of old traditions, even a few backhanded references to the lore of both old and recent, even a few questions answered.

And it was even better than expected. The episode showed us terrible fear, devastating consequences, and the greatest of relationships. Immense happiness coupled with heartbreaking sadness, just like the best of Gaiman and Doctor Who. I'd have it no other way.

Though, I would have quite liked to had the chance for some screen time with that The Corsair fellow. Great name for someone who's ship is found in a scrap heap outside the universe.

We can only hope he/she makes a reappearance. Whose to say he/she couldn't regenerate from having their arm, spine and kidneys ripped out? That would be badass. As to escape? Same way the Doctor did with the ruined tardises. A man can dream.

I love that this is the first time in the revived series that we've been able to see other parts of the TARDIS aside from the Control room, aside from a very brief scene in The Christmas Invasion when we see the Wardrobe Room. Until now, other than that 30-second scene, we've not seen any of the other rooms even though we know the inside of the TARDIS is at least the size of a mansion and according to the old series can become big enough to fit a country inside. What with the Library and the Swimming Pool, and 30 archived Control Rooms...

Also, I loved how Suranne Jones played Idris/TARDIS just like Helena Bonham Carter. The writing and the look and design and feel of the show was quintessentially Gaiman, with the whole gothic style and Idris/TARDIS being as mad as a bottle of pop. Amazing work, I already loved this season but this episode is the best yet. Though I was thinking earlier, as Head Writer did Steven Moffat give every writer this season a brief at the start that in every episode, at least once, writers have to have Rory die and come back to life somehow, and have Amy's love for him reaffirmed? Because although I enjoy that plot element, it is threatening to become slightly stale. At least Gaiman did it pretty damn well, and Michael Sheen was suitably creepy as House :D.

Finally, any episode with Ood in is destined to be awesome anyway. Whether they're good, or bad and being controlled by something. Ood are cool :D.

I doubt it. Judging by what we know of other timelords not currently in the midst of regenerating, limb removal, and more importantly spine removal, is most likely a permanent situation. And what with every timelord locked in an as-yet-unexplained time lock/murdered, having a survivor sans organs, limbs, and spines would make him a wonderful target for any race in the universe.

Possibly my favorite ever episode.
The House was one scary mother fucker.
One question though, how did their makeshift tardis protect them in space, it didn't even have walls?
It's a shield system. The shield keeps oxygen and pressure and all that sort of stuff inside their boundary, and prevents the Time Vortex from seeping in. Since the shields are activated via the Control Room, the main control panel is what controls them, and of course they'd have needed to use a working set of shields to fly the thing in the first place, no doubt they scavenged one from the TARDIS junkyard just as they did the other parts. You recall that Rory and Amy had to reach the archived Coral Control Room to deactivate the TARDIS shields, Idris/TARDIS did the same herself with the makeshift TARDIS in order to safely pass through the walls of the Doctor's TARDIS to reach said Control Room.

TL;DR: It had shields activated via the control panel.

I still fucking love that quote - it made me laugh with the sheer awesomeness of it. That 'sad but true feeling' was epic.
This episode was a bit weird and un-expected but still really good.

Oh yeah I openly admitt it's highly unlikely and not going to happen. But it could happen if a writer wanted it, you could have a situation like the 7th's regeneration in to the 8th, where he appeared to be dead and regenerated much later. Say the host drugged him, carved him up and threw him into a pile of trash, a few hours later he crawls out fully regenerated with new body including spine, kidneys and arms.

As awesome as the last of his kind thing is, I'd love to see more Timelords, just a few other survivors.
