Yeah, my best friend knows a girl in her university who plays "Quidditch". Apparently she takes it really seriously and is a loser. Like cosplaying, this is taking a fandom way too far in my opinion. There's enthusiastic, then there's just embarrassing.

Looks fun, however the staffs makes a spectator-friendly, for everyone, sport turn into a spectator-friendly, for nerds only, sport. I'd really like this if not for that one part. I do, however, see why they included it.

I really dug the Snitch part though, and some of those had some really cool moves (The rollback/backflip to get out of the way was awesome).

Now while that does sound like quite a bit of a laugh and fun to play i have to ask, how can you have a world cup when only American university students take part? Doesn't 'world' imply several countries taking part?
There were teams from Canada too. They can still call it a world cup, even if teams from further abroad are too poor to turn up.
Grey Carter.

You're awesome.

Looks fun, but...

I'm at a loss for words. I was not aware that this exists, nor does it have such a cult following.

They have my thanks, and at the same time, I will point and laugh. This is possibly the most ridiculous, and yet the most awesome thing I've seen all week.

We got a team at our school, I know a girl who played last year (not sure if she still plays) and shit I would even play it, but they'd have to split it up into a guys and girls league. Maybe its just me, but I'd feel bad hitting a girl. I saw some of the tackles in the video and well ya.

Why do people hate on this so much?
It's fun, people enjoy watching it, and it's athletic enough to get actually serious about.
Sounds like a fandom that goes too far producing something *good* for a change, imo.
