I have to disagree with you because of the fact that you dl mods and do not play vanilla Oblivion. FO3 compared to vanilla Oblivion, I find, is much more fun.DalekJaas said:I started playing Oblivion again recently (of course with a lot of mods) and in my opinion its better than Fallout 3. I find i can get far more immersed in Oblivion and the story for the main campaign is like...reading a good book that you can't put down. And some of the mods out now are brilliant, I have over 100 installed which seems pretty standard.
But does anyone still play Oblivion and if so are you a mod fan?
Really? It does make sense in a way... using your skills to improve them. It did get tedious in some cases, though.Souplex said:I always disliked oblivions stat growth system. Between every little adventure I would just sit in town casting mysticisim spells and conjuring things to grind my blades and unarmed skills.
floating bushes and water that doesn't meet land?cuddly_tomato said:Not me. I found it shallow and mind-meltingly dull compared to what else is out there. Bethesdas unprofessionalism shines in that game with spelling mistakes, floating bushes, water that doesn't quite meet the land, and the most attrocious dialogue I have heard in a game. And why the hell do they keep hiring Wes Johnson to do all the voices?
Oh yeah. I've done that too. I threw a ton of super powerful gear into the center of the Imperial Market District and cast an enormous rage spell. I just stood on the sidelines and watched the citizens take out the guards one after another.nimrandir said:I read a story on GameFAQs about a guy who collected all of Oblivion's biggest weapons, piled them in the middle of the Imperial City, and then cast Frenzy on townspeople from the safety of a rooftop. I have no idea if this would work (I am far too lawful good to do such a thing), but it might make for interesting viewing.
