The mod tools are coming for Fallout 3. There's no need to worry there.Praelanthor said:oblivion is currently bettert than fallout 3 cus bethesda sorta missed the fact that mod support is the only thing that keeps thier games afloat after 1 playthrough honestly would you still play oblivion again if there were no easily accessable mods?

Fran's mod is good, but if you really want to get the best of all worlds, try FCOM.Mariena said:I installed Oblivion two days ago. The next day I was advised to install mods.. so I checked out a little guide and ended up with Fransesco's whatever-lots-of-goodies-and-good-stuff-mod (note: not actual mod name). Also, I had to put my sound acceleration down a notch, otherwise the game sounds were fooked.
I pity the console Oblivion players.. no mods... ouch. The unofficial patch for Oblivion alone fixed over 1800 bugs.
In any case, I seem to be having fun so far. Despite that they hired about.. 5 voice actors.. and copied them over every single character.. And I can live with the fact that all Orcs sound and basically look human (down to the posh British accent).
The similarities to Fallout 3 (or rather, the other way around), are ..... almost scary.
I have rolled a Dark Elf archer-class-thingy. My trusty bow and my big fat claymore keep anyone at bay. Of course, for those ethereal beings, I have my shiny destruction magic! *poof*
Yes, but isn't FCOM a hassle to install? And will it still work mid-game? I've been putting quite a few hours into this game and I don't really feel like restarting..SimuLord said:Fran's mod is good, but if you really want to get the best of all worlds, try FCOM.Mariena said:I installed Oblivion two days ago. Royal pain in the ass, plus you'll have to roll a new character, but it is SO worth it.Mariena said:Yes, but isn't FCOM a hassle to install? And will it still work mid-game? All achievements in Oblivion isn't really that hard, just go through the main story and the four guild stories (and the Shivering Isles main story with that one branching part). Not to belittle you or anything as that's quite a time investment, just not nearly what's required for all the achievements in say Mass Effect or Gears of War (neither of which I've gotten all in, although I'm close with Mass Effect).The_Oracle said:Yeah, I played it for quite a while; it's a wonderful RPG that the Xbox 360 really needed. Hell, I ended up playing it for over 100 hours, I think. Plus I was able to unlock all of the achievements.
Well then, I'll just.. leave it there.SimuLord said:Royal pain in the ass, plus you'll have to roll a new character, but it is SO worth it.Mariena said:Yes, but isn't FCOM a hassle to install?
