I.. I can't play oblivion, I just can't do the fantasy genre I have found. I even go a hold of Icewind Dale, and for how great I was told about it, and how much I admired it, I couldn't do it.

I haven't played Fallout 3 yet, but I enjoyed Oblivion after I modded the hell out of it. I played vanilla Oblivion and didn't think it was all that great of a game. The leveling system and scaling enemies really ticked me off. Thanks to mods, I was able to change those more annoying aspects of vanilla Oblivion.

I prolonged my Oblivion playing by making one character for each faction's questline, one for the Main Quest, and one for the Shivering Isles.

In fact, since I got GTA IV, Madden '09, and Mirror's Edge before I finished all that, I'm still going.

So yes.

in my opinion its better than Fallout 3.
Must... Respect... Opinion...

*strains*

*vein pops out on forehead*

... it's... Fallout 3... it's basically just a radically improved Oblivion in nearly every way... how could he...

NO! STOP THERE. RESPECT OPINION.

I find i can get far more immersed in Oblivion and the story for the main campaign is like...reading a good book that you can't put down. And some of the mods out now are brilliant, I have over 100 installed which seems pretty standard.
I tried many times to get back into Oblivion. I modded the heck out of Oblivion myself and tried other mods and it couldn't solve the problems I had with the game.

Oblivion and Fallout 3 share one thing in common that they're great games right up until I finished them. Then they deflated like a popped balloon. For Fallout 3, it was that terrible forced ending. For Oblivion, it was because all of the story inertia died and suddenly everybody's pretty much standing around doing nothing.

Yeah should have reworded into saying i think some aspects of Oblivion are better than Fallout 3's. Of course fallout is new with better gameplay features etc, but it has a different feel to oblivion (in my...respected...opinion. Also I agree that when you finish the main quests the game loses momentum.

i played a lot of oblivion. i'm done. can't play morrowwind anymore either. i got so frustrated and sick of oblivion's leveling system, and im not interested in modding that outof the game.

It was a nice game though, just a few things that leave me uninterested. I can't soulcapture gods like vivec in oblivion. that ticked me off!

i just play through the games, collect as many skulls as i can, decorate a tower, and leave it at that.

I actually like Oblivion. Allot...

... when I'm using cheats and pretending that I'm a god that is...

Also, turning the difficulty right down and killing everyone is fun too.

What? Me? Bloodthirsty? Never!

I still play it on the 360 a bit, not much, but a bit. I liked Morrowind lots more, but Oblivion was still a pretty good game.

I like Oblivion a lot, with the right set of mods. Unfortunately it doesn´t like my system and crashes every half hour, no matter what I try.
Soo I am playing Morrowind again. The stuff MW does better than Oblivion easily outnumbers it´s flaws.

Mods make me happy. I've recently installed a ragdolls modification, so I can actually drag bodies and hide them.. if that does anything. They also no longer casually drop down like there's a lot of air friction preventing them from dropping normally. And they don't flail their arms that spastically anymore. It looked silly.

What I really need is a voice mod, however. The only thing I've found so far is some really odd, strange, weird anime-girl replacement voice. I don't want my dark elf to sound like some brutish thug woman, but I also don't want her to sound like a Japanese schoolgirl. Does anyone have any suggestions?

I don't. However, my man does, and likes playing with the mods.
I'll stick with Fallout 3 thanks.

Bro, I still play Morrowind! I still play Oblvion, too. As long as people continue to produce good mods for both games, I'll be able to play both Morrowind and Oblivion indefinitely. Of course, I create new characters to keep the challenges alive.

I don't actually think they are many voice mods out there. THere are of course the mods where people have voice acted new characters. But i have never come across a voice changer. Yeah i agree having your character sound like a japanese school girl would kind of destroy the immersion.

I played it for about 20mins and got bored. Sorry oblivion fans, im sure its a good game but its not for me. I find Fallout 3 is much more entertaining.

I actually find Fallout 3 to be.. boring. Yep. While there's a whole ton to explore, the barren wastelands are.. well.. boring. I level way too fast, being level 15 in a matter of hours. The toughest enemies fall before my hunting rifle. There is no challenge, and there is only so much exploration of metro stations and sewers I can handle .. and I feel that that is all there is to, since the main quest is stupidly short.

I had the best weapons and armor within a short timespan.. and well... nothing can beat you at that point. Though nothing could anyway, even naked.

Oblivion just seems a whole more interesting, especially with mods. In fact, I got ambushed by some undead Lich in some damn Elven ruin who almost managed to wipe the floor with me. And being able to block stuff is just so much cooler than soaking up bullets that will hit you anyway.

I've so thoroughly played Oblivion to death and beaten the living hell out of it that it's retired, gone to the Hall of Fame, and had its jersey raised to the rafters at the home stadium.

It was a great 500 hours (across all characters and mods), though.
Yeah, pretty much sums up my experience. I can go back to it occasionally, but there's very little left to get out of it anymore. Even the novelty of better visuals from upgrading my computer wore off long ago. I wouldn't be surprised if I came back to it a year from now and found myself sinking another 100 hours into it just like that, but definitely not anytime soon. Right now, I'm in Fallout Country.

Has this already been posted?
This list [http://www.uesp.net/wiki/Oblivion:Roleplaying#Old_Format_Articles] is absolutely hilarious. What really terrifies me is that I hope it´s a joke but I just know there are people out there who do those things. Just like those people who mod some nude slave elves into there games and... do it while watching them. I have seen screenshots of mods... still haunts me

I have Oblivion for the 360 and I love it. I've played for over 100 hours now and I still haven't advanced the main quest past the very beginning.
