Yes. Hopefully they'll add an open world-esqe online race mode. That would be pretty amazing.

... And maybe add more rats into it. Rats seem to be a recurring element in DICE's games these days.

The first was a fantastic game with a lot of flaws. However, those flaws were mostly just because the concept was so new; a sequel is exactly what they need to perfect the formula and make an absolutely amazing, utterly unique game. There are few games I want more.

Absolutely - It certainly had something and hopefully some of the issues with the first game can be fixed.

Some common ideas I'm seeing here involve things like sandboxing and I really really think this would be a bad idea for Mirror's Edge unless the gameplay will be totally different. In order to make a continuous and flowing progression and moves, it has to be know where and what direction you will be going. An open world will only serve to cut down on the core gameplay which, I admit, was the only thing to like about the game.

Welcome to every EA-published sequel ever. In the case of Mirror's Edge, however, I have no idea how they could possibly simplify it any further. Although I'm sure they'll find a way.

The first game was bad but had potential. If that potential could be realised then yes, I would want a sequal. If it stayed like it was, then no way.

My thoughts exactly. My main issue with the first game wasn't the core concept, but the execution, and my ire for it comes mostly from the frustration at seeing it miss its potential due to lack of polish, much as Faith herself would miss a ledge due to crappy collision detection.

But I would genuinely love to see a sequel which was as tight and polished as the first should have been, where the rare moments of flow become a constant stream of poetry in motion. Ah...

I'd want a second, just not from EA. God knows they'd twist it to make it "compete against COD" or something stupid like that...

Just remove the gunplay, focus more on the platforming/free-running, have more open levels, and that would be fantastic.

Like a lot of people, I would like either more freedom or more variety to the move list. I wouldn't mind the game being linear if it was far longer and had a greater variety of moves. If the story was any good, I wouldn't have minded either.

Do I want a Mirrors edge 2? Maybe. Would I prefer another game in the same vein, maybe featuring Faith as someone mentoring the player character and trying to unite all the remaining runners to help take back the city and unravel the conspiracy of Mirrors Edge while retaining all of the elements that made first game incredibly fun?

Yeah, basically that. Also needs to be longer, the first was criminally short. The way they designed combat in the first part was shit (shooting's completely out of place), but there may be better ways to implement combat so that it fits. Alternatively just having to run the fuck away sometimes wouldn't be a bad idea either, adds a sense of thrill for sure. Multiplayer could also definitely work if designed right.

I agree. I would remove the guns completely and combat should not be the main focus. The game was at its best when you were either running from someone, chasing someone or running with bullets wising past your ears. I actually really liked the disarms TBH. In most instances I think actually sticking around to fight all of them should be pretty much a no win situation and you only really use disarms to take out guys in your way. That pretty much how I used it in ME aside from when they force you to stick around and fight them all by putting a bulkhead door or a long pipe you have to climb up on to exit and it was really fun. Even in the final fight the only guy I actually have to take out is the one with the machine gun.

Yes to Mirror's Edge 2. Personally, I think that they could go with two directions to improve it. Either ditch weapons altogether, or simply improve it to match up with other FPS games. On the other hand, even if they went with the latter, I would want it to remain optional. Possibly include story consequences for killing people.

Other than that, just give multiple paths through a mission, maybe loosen the timings on the disarms just a bit and you're golden.

I absolutely loved the first one. i think it was a great experience even tho it was short. I keep hearing rumors that there might be a second one but nothings been comfirmed. Does anyone else want the second one to come out? or is it a series thats better off left alone?
