The Simpsons (and Futurama) have been doing this for years. Has he only now noticed? O'Reilly is more out of touch... no, wait. It really doesn't surprise me at all.

Damn those cartoons, they've got to stop bullying networks such as the honourable FOX...wait what I just say...

So let me get this straight. A guy, who likely gets handed some/most his material, made comments about the network that airs both his own show and a cartoon. He remarked on the degree of freedom allowed to cartoons because they aren't real. Someone wrote a short article about how he mentioned it. You found it, put a sensationalist title on it, and suggested that he thought they were real. It was successful, since many people (myself included) have read it. Or rather, clicked the link.

Sensationalist media groups with strongly opinionated userbases are what are destroying your country. If someone doesn't do something about Fox and The Escapist, there will be widespread... On second thought, I don't know that for sure. Maybe you're both good for America or something.

I hate Bill O'Reilly as much as the next guy, but no, that does not even come close to making him sound like he thinks the Simpsons are real. I don't know why you dedicated an entire news post to that.

Despite this being a pretty pointless thread, Bill is practically the biggest troll to ever live.

Rather forgiveable, in light of many of his other deeds ;-)
My point exactly, he can get brain farts like anyone else. So instead of focusing on a Simpson moan he had, which we can't even confirm if it was an actual moan or jab at the producers, how about we focus the more outrageous things? For the greater lol!

So The Simpsons takes a cheap shot at Fox News. Honestly, Mr. O'Rieley, if you're going to make a big deal out of everyone who takes a cheap shot at your beloved news station when it makes it so goddamn easy, you're going to spend more time arguing pointlessly than delivering actual news content.

. . .

Oh, wait . . .

Bill O'Reilly's thought process - "Boo hoo hoo. 'The Simpsons' made fun of a group I'm a part of. Boo hoo hoo. It was fine when it was every other group during its 20+ year run, but when it's my group, I can't take it like an adult. Boo hoo hoo. They're stupid."

Take your ball and go home, you fucking pussy.

If the Simpsons are taking a jab at Fox News, clearly for social commentary purposes, then perhaps before reflexively slamming a good natured cartoon they should check to see why so many comedy shows, from Simpsons to South Park to Family Guy to John Stewart etc. are making the exact same joke. Perhaps because its true?
Even terrorists and serial killers try and paint themselves as sympathetic victims often enough.

Twirling your mustache and laughing at how evil you are is a poor way to get recruits/sympathy/viewers.

I don't think they're under any delusion otherwise. I think this is just a marketing stunt, so to speak. Drumming up the base as it were.

Yea, viewers of Fox news or MSNBC are mindless vegetables. I mean think for yourself, don't let some news network like MSNBC or Fox news tell you what to think, let an Internet meme tell you what to think, you can even plug in one of the memes that tell you are progressive and free thinking!

Wait, that wording makes it seem like Fox broadcasting is "biting the hand that feeds part of it" rather than The Simpsons.

A dangling participant! [http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=N4vf8N6GpdM] oO

On topic: O'Reilly clearly has no sense of humor and an attrocious way of expressing that, which makes the situation only funnier IMHO.

Dangling Participle*

Is it really any surprise that Bill O'Reily will criticize anything that isn't red? Fox News isn't in the slightest bit subtle about their bias. They're like a prostitute, eagerly willing to jack off any republican that dares watch, because it gets them views. It's not against the law, and it's certainly won't lose the channel any viewers.

All media outlets have a slight liberal bias. There is no news channel out there that even begins to scratch the surface of FOX News's level of bias and deception. Except for maybe that of North Korea.

However, I commend Matt Groening/Whoever actually makes 'The Simpsons' for being ballsy enough to make a joke like that about the main network they run on.

How is that new in slightest?

The Simpsons had gag's about Fox since season 2 and continued onward and onward. Now it's season 22 it's not funny anymore but they will keep doing that.

Same with Futurama and other's.

That clip was beautiful. This provides me more than enough laughs for an entire episode.

By reacting like this he's lending more credence to to the joke. Well Fox itself is a joke too but thats a different story

I'm not an American, and I have never watched Fox news, but I do have to say that during its long run, The Simpsons has done much to slowly poison the world's view of America and Americans in general. It's one of the few American shows that is viewed around the world, and unfortunately, many non-Americans take its constant self-satire at face value. The image of the fat, stupid, lazy American was nowhere near as prevalent before The Simpsons were around.

The Simpsons tend to make jibes at Fox all the time as part of a long time running joke...

Why is this news. What a total baby.

Bill O'Reilly is a complete tool. I await the time when he's no longer newsworthy, even for little jabs like this.
