No, I do think you have something there, I have never had an aversion to modern dancing like hip-hop and the like but I enjoy counter-culture and old-style dancing so much more. Reading over most of these replies (while statisically invalid) I think your theory has some merit.

If so, WOOOOOOO! MOSH PIT!!!!!!!!!

I can do some waltz things. I had to do a formal dance thing called the deb. That was fun.

If headbanging counts then we have to include moshing. Some people would disagree with me but I think that any kind of dance is an expression of the music, so moshing definitally counts.
