Does The Escapist seem slow to you?

happens to me occasionally (not rarely) and I'm a member of the pub club so that's not it, wish they'd fix it... And no, it's not a connection problem.

Yeah, it seems to be slow quite often. It sure as hell ain't my connection cause all the other sites load up just fine and quite fast. Escapist takes a bit longer to load up normally (guessing because of stuff like Facebook integration and stuff), but at times it can get really annoyingly slow. Not sure if that's up to the Escapist itself or the line between me and their servers, but again, pretty much everything else loads up just fine all the time, while Escapist has a tendency to slow down relatively often.

Yep. It's slow and half the time I can't even bring up the main page.

I blame either not enough professional web designing going on to hold the site together, or else the new ad software bogging everything down to a ridiculous degree. I can't tell if Meebo is gone, but the other ME2 pop-ups and stuff is still here.

It sucks that even my fast computer runs like crap on this website, and it makes me want to not visit The Escapist at all.

Every Wednesday is the same. Lag along with lost posts and messages. I have gotten quite used to copying anything before I submit it if I bother communicating at all on Wednesday. The lag issues were around prior to the captchas and the additional advertising. It isn't like you can tell which days are going to have large demands on your bandwidth... Oh, wait... I am sure all the money from the additional bandwidth hogging ads could be put to good use somewhere.

Yes. I've been wondering if becoming a dues paying member would improve the situation.

I can confirm that it's nothing to do with the PubClub, I have slowdown, and 'server not responding' seemingly at random times.

I think it's just a lack of servers coming together with the Escapist's growing popularity.

It's been very slow for me recently and I'm certain that it isn't my internet connection.

It's just... bad. It's been slow for me since I joined the site, and it most certainly isn't my connection as I've used three separate connections in that time, and multiple computers.
