The world is genuinely a better place for lol catz... I'm not sure if I can say the same about tentacle rape though.

If you're somehow under the impression that the internet invented tentacle rape, you sir, are sorely mistaken.

I knew about the recent history and the reasons for it but found the historical references interesting. My throw away comment about tentacle rape was more to do with its presense on the internet, 4chan etc. I never said the internet invented tentacle rape.

To be much clearer, if you read my original post, I don't think think the internet invented facials either

Look the POINT of the research is it demonstrates those who use the internet more have more twitches in their frontal lobe. The point isn't that they're smarter it's that their BRAINS are working out more. The Brain is a muscle, when it exercised it's function improves.

You're broadening the claim with no evidence to support it. Nothing listed indicates that the internet causes higher levels of activity than other potential activities, just that it induces higher levels of activity in people who are accustomed to it compared to people who aren't.
