Does your Wii collect dust?

I love my Wii to bits, but it does tend to sit unused for months at a time, even though I really enjoy the games on it. Part of it is because I lean towards PC gaming more often, but another part of it is because when I do feel like playing a console game, I want to lean back on the bed and relax in the late evening, rather than stand or sit directly in front of the tv for it to pick up my motion controls. I'd probably play it more often if my bed was directly in front of the tv, rather than off to the side a bit, and though I realise the Wii isn't exactly a 'lazy gamer' console, it'd be nice if there was an option to turn off the wiimote motion controls in some games. (Pokemon Battle Revolution doesn't really require them, for example.)

Bought a Wii, had it for 2 weeks, returned it, this was back when it was first released, haven't gotten one since. Not worth it for just one new decent exclusive a year.

It kind of has. But really, all my consoles go through periods where I never touch them.

The only reason my PS3 is being used at all is because I'm finishing up West Wing after tearing through BSG. After this, I probably won't touch it again for a while.

My X360 is my main gaming console, so that gets used the most.

As for my Wii, I've still got Skyward Sword to finish (I'm maybe more than halfway?) and Xenoblade Chronicles to really start (I've played maybe an hour or two), and probably I'll finish SMG2. I imagine I'll be turning my Wii back on fairly soon.

Course the big question is how much more use I'll get out of it before the Wii U comes out.

Yeah, I've played Baroque, and SSBB, and some Wii Fit but that's about it. I've no intentions of spending more money on it, so it just sits there... It had potential, but now I almost only play on PC.

Last time I used it was to play Twilight Princess about six months ago, and Goldeneye 007 when it came out two Christmases ago. Then there was a while I was using it only for playing Ocarina of Time and Majora's Mask. The only time I'll ever use it now is if my friend ever lets me borrow Skyward Sword and one of those Wii Motion Plus things.

I haven't played my Wii for more than an hour at a time in over two years.

It did, but now that the end of the console's lifespan is coming up, I've been able to just go online, find the games that the general consensus has been positive on and go back and buy them at discounted price. Been getting a lot of use lately.

The only thing I consistently used the Wii for was retro games. Seriously, the Wii kicks the crap out of both other systems in terms of older games you can play on it. It has games from pretty much every single console up to the end of the 16-bit era and the N64, plus it's backwards compatible with Gamecube games. But there are still a lot I want that are missing. They only recently added Megaman X2, and I'm waiting for X3. Plus, WiiWare is and always was a total joke.

Now that enough time has passed for the gems and the crap to go through the filter, I'm going through the Wii backlog. There are several surprising titles there like sequels to A Boy and his Blob and Nights into Dreams and Klonoa and Sin and Punishment, and a few interesting gems scattered around. Plus the Last Story is coming up, so there's that.

The only time I got the Wii version when there were all three versions was Rayman Origins because... I don't know. It just felt right.

i got my Wii in 2007 and played the hell out of it (retail, VC, GC) until i bought my PS3 a year ago. now i only play Dr. Mario on it with my wife, although once i get through my intro PS3 phase (still ongoing finding games i need to play), i plan on replaying a few, like maybe no more heroes, mario galaxy 2, and metroid prime.

I use it occasionally, and just yesterday I was playing Windwaker on it (which is a fantastic game, by the way). I use it mostly for gamecube games, occasionally Mario Kart, and I use it for Netflix quite a bit, since it works better on my Wii then it does on the PS3.

I played mine since release for quite a long time. Then the Wii Fit was announced and after that I just kind of felt odd playing it anymore. Then after a while of Net Flix use it eventually broke.

Mine does not collect dust, but not through any action of my own. My little brother and sister play it damn near every day still. I go home to visit and play Smash Bros or Mario Kart with them now and then, but not really much else. But the twins? They love the thing still.

I only play it when my mentally handicapped half sister comes over. Then we play Mario Party. It's agonizing but she enjoys it so I do it anyway.

Other than that. The last time I seriously gamed on it would be with Skyward Sword. I played through it once, was mildly disappointed, and haven't played it since.

So yes, the Wii in my house gathers dust.

It depends...

It's gathering more dust than my PS3, PC or iMac, but not nearly as much as my X360. Though to be fair, I hardly play any games on my PC or iMac, so it kind of depends if you count "work" as "gathering dust".

I've used my Wii for Xenoblade Chronicles, The Last Story and Pandora's Tower. MadWorld and No More Heroes 1 & 2 as well, but I never finished them. (Nice concepts, but the execution wasn't entertaining enough to keep me interested beyond the halfway point.) But, nonetheless, the first three titles I mentioned have kept me somewhat occupied and I still fire 'em up sometimes (you know, to get that 100%).

I also have New Super Mario Bros. Wii, but never finished that either - I don't need to play some Super Mario World meets Super Mario Bros. 3 re-hash if I can just play either of those original games. Same for Super Mario Galaxy, for a game than got nothing but 10s and the occasional 9, I was severely disappointed. Same with Zelda: Twilight Princess. I don't care if Okami copy/pasted its formula from the Zelda series, at least they finally did something else than repackaging Ocarina of Time and selling it as a new game. God, I've started ranting, time to wrap it up.

Havent played with it in years, hell, I dont even know if I still own it! The only two games I would play again now are Mario Kart and Animal Crossing, neither of which are that amazing enough to warrant digging it out and setting it up.

Technically yes, yes it does because I don't ever really move it much, and I'm really bad when it comes to cleaning.

So yeah, my Wii does collect dust, but so does my 360 and PS3.

However, I would say my Wii is actually my most used console right now. Not just for games, but also for Netflix (the wii is in the same room as my computer, so it gets used for Netflix a lot)

PS3 is second, also for games and also for Netflix

and 360 is dead last for not really releasing any games I want on it lately and expecting me to pay $15 a month for the privilege of using Netflix on it...

No, though admittedly it gets more use as a Netflix streaming device than a game machine.
