Why must websites be redesigned when they are perfectly fine as they are? Youtube is the biggest victim of this I have noticed so far. A little while back they redesigned the comments so they didn't turn up under what was being replied to. A month or two back they redesigned the whole page to have an auto-play thing that automaticly skips to the next clip down the list and changed the layout in general. In both these cases they are to the detriment of the site. Last I checked being less user friendly wasn't the purpose of redesigning things (unless you want people to leave of course). The escapist has sought of done this with the pop out clips when you hit play. It's not a big deal but its adding another step to the watching of a clip and moving on.

Why can't sites leave things as a straight forward "you click, you play, you move on to more" format? And also why can't they have a brain when it comes to adding things like that stupid auto play and changing the comment structure? Maddox's "best page in the universe" was a joy to navigate for me. So brutally straight forward it was excellent.

The owners get bored.

Change has to happen.

I will forever hate pizza hut for changing their online ordering. I used to be able to order off of my cellphone, but now it's flash based so my cellphone can't even load the page anymore.

I was really annoyed when the Escapist underwent their re-design. I am one of those obsessives who needs to sit in the same seat and order the same thing every time he goes to a restaurant. Eventually I forgot what the original design was and moved on.

Wait, but if you're using your cellphone to order, can't you just call?

But I can be more precise when ordering online (extra sauce, less cheese, half and half, etc.)

'spose your right, but you may as well get used to change as soon as possible. It'll be harder to adapt with bigger ones if y'don't.

Because you're incapable of communicating these specifics via your words?

It's harder and they usually get it wrong if I say it.

I understand what you're saying, but you might want to consider that the point isn't always to be the most user-friendly. Usually, it's to increase ad revenue some way or another. If you make people click a few more times, and you paid per click, then you're making more money. I don't fully understand the website economy, or all the different ways they can make money, but it's usually safe to assume every decision is made for more money.

Pizza places get things right for me generally (though my order is usually just "half extra cheese, half anchovies", I don't get as specific as it sounds like you do), the main culprit for getting my order wrong is the burger places.

btw, what's your ideal pizza? I like anchovies and heaping amounts of garlic sauce on mine. I've yet to meet someone else that likes anchovies like I do on pizzas, so the topping doubles as a safeguard for leftover pizza the morning after. As it stands, only Papa Johns offers anchovies because everyone but me likes the wrong toppings in this world. They make a good pizza, though, and I can always get extra garlic sauce.

Sarpinos does anchovies too, and is in my opinion a much more delicious pizza for the price and the amount of customization available.

Never heard of them, are they regional? Only lived in the North/Southeast coast of the U.S. so we generally only get the bigger chains. At the sit-down pizza places, my friends and I are often sharing pizzas and they don't want my anchovies anywhere near their slices, so I never really get the chance to run the gamut.

If I was just ordering for me, Extra sauce, less cheese, and onions. Lots of onions.

facebook has to be the biggest contributor to such a mess... I find it kind of funny, everytime there's an update there's atleast 8 or 9 posts about it from friends bitching about it, and a fan page full of people petitioning it..

Yea can I also state that I am sick of the "If (desginated #) of (fools) join this (redicuous) group, said group (who has not made anything related to a promise and does not even know of this group) will (start, stop, or change) (Insert random thought here)"

Or maybe it is these said groups that are causing this horrid issue. o_O

New things need to enter the fray every once in a while.
off topic: my saying based off this: break whats working fine, put it back together artisticly, and people will crowd around and pay to see it.
