Why must websites be redesigned when they are perfectly fine as they are? Youtube is the biggest victim of this I have noticed so far. A little while back they redesigned the comments so they didn't turn up under what was being replied to. A month or two back they redesigned the whole page to have an auto-play thing that automaticly skips to the next clip down the list and changed the layout in general. In both these cases they are to the detriment of the site. Last I checked being less user friendly wasn't the purpose of redesigning things (unless you want people to leave of course). The escapist has sought of done this with the pop out clips when you hit play. It's not a big deal but its adding another step to the watching of a clip and moving on.
Why can't sites leave things as a straight forward "you click, you play, you move on to more" format? And also why can't they have a brain when it comes to adding things like that stupid auto play and changing the comment structure? Maddox's "best page in the universe" was a joy to navigate for me. So brutally straight forward it was excellent.
