Today i got into a long argument with a gamer earlier about how im kinda turned from pc gaming. he has the nerve to think that Console gammers are Inferior to pc gamers. the only reason i rather play games on consoles than pc's is that its getting hard to keep my gamming pc up to date to play newer games(and expensive). so insted i rather play or wait for some pc games to come out on consoles since there already pre-maid for gamming with little or no task to keep it up to date.

In gaming, no one is really inferior to one another. All that matters is that you play the games you want however you want.

Flame wars are gonna happen more often then not if you start a topic saying "don't flame me."

I don't gam very much so I couldn't really tell you my thoughts on that one. However when it comes to gaming I feel consoles and PCs are best left to personal preference then anything else.

Ehh, to each their own... I prefer PC myself, but honestly, its not out of superiority its just that my Computer is more comfortable than my living room. At the same time, I use a 360 controller to play almost any game on PC ill play.. because its more comfortable.

It really doesnt make alot of sense to get worked up one way or another about Console vs PC

By saying you just want to play w/o actually working at it, you're showing PC gamers are more "hardcore" than most console gamers. They're willing to put an hour or so into getting their system up-to-date and installing a game just so they can have the best possible experience they can have. Console gamers would rather just have an experience with next to no work.

I'm not saying it's correct or anything, but you're kind of proving him right.

This statement really twists my ponytail. He has the right to his own opinion, as stated in almost every nation's constitution. Along with his right to an opinion comes his right to express it. It's not that he "has the nerve", it's that he exercising a civil right which he has been granted. Your statement makes you sound a bit dickish if you don't mind my stating.

And guess what. Based on the merits of specification and capabilities (e.g graphics, loading, interface, content, etc.) judged on parallel-running planes of progression (i.e. a comparison) PC games are in fact far superior to consoles games in almost every manner. For the graphics which a lot of PCs can render now, it will take the next generation of high powered consoles to even come close to matching it.

Not it you buy the right hardware and enough of it. I had a gaming PC myself (before it was stolen) which had enough power to run Crysis twice over. It's not hard to find good parts at good prices. You just have to get up and look for them.

Again, a good gaming computer can last you a hell of a long time if you take care of it. While yes consoles are easier to work with a lot more user friendly, they don't bring the guns to compete the PCs.

Spell check is your friend, try not to post half-baked, one-sided arguments. I'm a hardcore console gamer myself, however I'm not ignorant or arrogant enough to say that PC games aren't superior.

You know, you could just set the resolution to 600p, use the graphics options to turn down texture/shader to low, model to medium, effects to low, and draw distance to low. Keel AA at 2X (maybe 4X).

I mean, that's basically what every console version of a multiplat (inc PC) is anyway.

Look at what you have to aim for graphically...let's take Halo 3 or Modern Warfare. Resolution first, they're both something like 600p. With that in mind, you won't be needing the higher quality textures necessary for higher-resolution output, and since there won't be that much detail on screen you can use the less detailed models and special effects. Just to keep it from appearing too jaggy though, use 4XAA.

Done.


Same goes for games like L4D, Mass Effect, Assasins Creed, etc. Only very rarely will there be a PC/console game that this won't apply to.

EDIT: I think MW is 600p and Halo 3 is 640p (native). They then get upscaled to 720p
