Don't flame me bro! Don't flame me!

OT: Whatever. You two just wanted something to banter over. He doesn't care, you don't care...why should I?

PC...Console: Just be a gamer. That's good enough.

One big thing that PCs have over consoles, at least in my opinion, is that their technology is constantly evolving and improving whereas the current generation of consoles is four to five years old depending on your console of choice. They're still pretty powerful but there's beastly gaming rigs out there that laugh in the face of the 3.2 GHz PS3 and 360. Consoles do win in terms of affordable power, though. I wish I had the thousands to sink into a gaming rig.

Also on a more personal note, I find the mouse and keyboard interface to be a bit more intuitive and precise than any current or previous gamepad. Chiefly because you can map most any function to most any key and your whole arm allows much more precision than simply moving your thumb.

By saying you just want to play w/o actually working at it, you're showing PC gamers are more "hardcore" than most console gamers. They're willing to put an hour or so into getting their system up-to-date and installing a game just so they can have the best possible experience they can have. Console gamers would rather just have an experience with next to no work.

I'm not saying it's correct or anything, but you're kind of proving him right.
Surely that's backwards? Console gamers would rather just play the game without having to spend hours preparing to play the game, making console gamers the more hardcore gamers whereas PC gamers probably the more hardcore nerds. Being willing to spend hours not playing games is somewhat less hardcore than being so keen to play you'd rather just stick it in the drive and play, IMHO.

None of it matters really (especially not the issue of being "hardcore", which tends to only be used in relation to gaming by the idiots who complain about how casual gaming is destroying the universe) but I personally prefer consoles because there's so much less hassle involved. I can just sit down and play games whenever I want without having to upgrade my hardware, install the game, find out why I'm getting a certain error and download a patch, etc etc.

I am a pc-elitist, I do consider all consoles inferior to the pc, both hardware and software wise. Although lately my pc (self built gaming rig) plays my movies, my 360 gathers dust. And I find myself just playing around with my wii. To steal a qoute from a really fun VS vid.

"Just touch me and you'll have the time of your life..."

So, just play whatever you find brings you the most fun, damn what ever your friend/me/anyone thinks.
