Why on Earth would I hate you for that?

As for Halo Reach, I'm a little bit indifferent to it but I'll give it a try when it comes out.

I think I recognise the guy at 0:30-0:35, I'm pretty sure he worked for FASA on Shadowrun (FPS), so that's where he went.

As for Reach, I might get it, definitely looks promising. If they get the whole 'sandbox' part right, it could be a freshing turn for the series.

How many halo games are there out now? Like 10-15? Seriously do we REALLY need ANOTHER halo game? I guess bungie is suscribing to the EA Games/Madden school of sequeling. Release the same game every year, only make minor tweaks to the characters/players update the graphics and bam. You get $60 from some unsuspecting sucker.

Same here. Roasting a baby; how barbaric. Those of us with some inkling of cognitive thought know that the best way to prepare babies is through smoking.

I quite like Halo (for the PC). I don't like the later ones as much because they are not available for me to play. If this one is made available for me then I'l see what it's like.

I actually don't like Halo at all either but that picture is pretty damn cool. But, the game isn't like that so it doesn't matter. Anyways, what's the second picture? It looks amazing.

First of all... there is:

Halo: CE
Halo 2
Halo 3
Halo Wars
and Halo 3: ODST

That is 5 fucking games... relax....

Secondly, ODST was quite different, different enough to warrant it's own release, but it was just too damn short, and Halo Wars was an RTS, so certainly not the EA/Madden model you're alluding to.

Third, Do we REALLY NEED any sequel to any game, ever? No... it's not a need, it's a want, and bottom line is that fans WANT Halo Reach and we will get it...

Take your unjustified Halo hate elsewhere.

What are you talking about? It's not like a Halo game is released every year, you can count all the currently released Halo games on one hand, one of which wasn't even made by Bungie.

I'm not sure I'd call myself a fan of the Halo series, but this does look very good. It seems like it's going to be a much bigger world than there ever has been in a Halo game. It seems like it's going to be a much more realised world. This looks really big, so I'm interested in it.

I think that probably most people who claim to hate Halo just hate the majority of the fanbase. The games themselves, I think, are actually quite good. It's the fanbase that brings it down. Besides, if this game is character driven like they say it is, then there most likely won't be the "Master Chief is a badass!" thing turning up in every cutscene.

A "NEW" Halo game. Really.
Please detail me what new primary game mechanics they have included besides "shooting people". I'll give you a hint; MOST first-person shooters try to have at least one.
HL2: Physics/gravgun
FEAR: Slowmo/squad AI
Left 4 Dead: Teamwork-focused enemies and objectives
Shattered Horizon: Zero-G
Modern Warfare: Perks/modern-weapons(UAV,airstrike)
Crysis: Suit powers (jump, sprint, cloak)
Halo: Whatever has been popular recently.

Contrary to the first reply, we do not hate here at the escapist. If you find someones comment mean/offensive simply click on the red report button under their name.

Rage moar. By all means, you are entitled to your opinion, but at the very least, get your facts straight, there are 4 Halo games from Bungie and one from the now-closed Ensemble Studios, so that's 5 in total, which is less than other popular franchises like Call of Duty, Final Fantasy, GTA, Super Mario, Sonic, Battlefield, Ace Combat and Legend of Zelda to name A FEW. And seriously, 60$ is nothing, I have to pay twice for new games because of riduculous import taxes.
