60$ is nothing
Well, I stopped reading. $60 is officially half of my paycheck working at my college's helpdesk. The other half goes to tuition, meaning I'd be cutting a loss if I so much as bought a Mars bar with my copy of Halo: Reach.
You jobless kids don't know the value of money.

This looks...brilliant

After the disappointment that was ODST it would be nice to see an amazing Halo game and I have good to high expectations of the beta

However, due to Halo wars and ODST I will remain sceptical of Reach

*sigh* Okami was, indeed, wonderful =) I guess I'm biased anyway because I don't play many games like Halo, but I wholeheartedly agree that Okami was deserving of far more attention than it got!

And you're everyone.
We're in the middle of a recession, so I'm lucky to have a job at ALL.

It's something to hope for. The Halo franchise is thinking it's getting the last drops of milk from it's cow of ideas, which is probably true. I jusy hope those snikering jerks at Bungie give us ANOTHER cliff-hanger.

I'm not going to hate you, I love the Halo franchise. Shame about all the hate for it simply because it's popular though.

How many halo games are there out now? Like 10-15? Seriously do we REALLY need ANOTHER halo game? I guess bungie is suscribing to the EA Games/Madden school of sequeling. Release the same game every year, only make minor tweaks to the characters/players update the graphics and bam. You get $60 from some unsuspecting sucker.
Actually, 5 at the moment.. so yeah. Your hyperbolic and useless attempt falls short there.
You people obviously dont know the meaning of the word "exaggeration".
Here let me help you out.

exaggeration - the act of making something more noticeable than usual

A "NEW" Halo game. Really.
Please detail me what new primary game mechanics they have included besides "shooting people". I'll give you a hint; MOST first-person shooters try to have at least one.
HL2: Physics/gravgun
FEAR: Slowmo/squad AI
Left 4 Dead: Teamwork-focused enemies and objectives
Shattered Horizon: Zero-G
Modern Warfare: Perks/modern-weapons(UAV,airstrike)
Crysis: Suit powers (jump, sprint, cloak)
Halo: Whatever has been popular recently.
Well the big one that comes to mind is regenerating health.(Halo:CE) And that isn't even mentioning the two weapon limit, or the dedicated grenade and melee buttons.
Not to mention, Halo 3 (and many other games) have had suit powers long before Crysis, they were just called "equipment". Halo: Reach is also implementing those in a different way than previous Halo games.

Also, (to me) the biggest NEW feature Halo: Reach is adding is use of ANY vehicle you come across, whether civilian or military, as well as taking any vehicles from opposition forces and using those. I have never seen that in another FPS as far as I can recall.

Ok number one. Its call an exaggeration. Look it up. Overstating something. I exaggerated because there is an over-saturation of HALO games on the market. And as for "unjustified" halo hate, I can hate halo all i want and whiny fanboys like yourself cant do anything about it. As said in later posts, i am entitled to my opinion and i may express it in anyway i see fit. And im soooo sorry that I dont adore your precious halo. On second thought, no I'm not.
Toon, hate to do this to you, but for a second I respected your opinion.

Then, I went and read the post you got put on probation for, and realized you are a MW:2 fanboy, which really makes your opinion about Halo being over-saturated pretty ironic.

Call of Duty has released 12 games (including ports/games for handhelds) over 7 years.

Halo has released 5 games over 9 years. Pretty obvious which game is more over-saturated.

Also, its a bit ironic that you call the people supporting halo in a thread ABOUT halo whiny, when its people like you who are really doing the whining.
Oh no, you saw right through me. Bravo. For the record, I like Modern Warfare 2 but im not obsessed with it like some people are. But I've got my flame shield up. So your little pokes and jabs at me are just bouncing right off. I've said my peace. I'll leave it at that. Im leaving this topic before I get Halo'd to death.

I'm afraid your flame shield isn't quite as effective as this handy blast shield I happen to have equipp-WHAT? FOR GODS SAKE, NOT AGAIN. LITTLE TACTICAL KNIFE COMMANDO BIT-

But I digress. I have a lot of fun with both games, to be completely honest.

There isn't a Halo cash cow. I can tell you now that several Bungie and Microsoft Game Studios employees, most notably Lorraine McLees of Microsoft in the introduction to the Halo Graphic Novel, have gone on record as stating that Halo games are made specifically for the fans. As a fan of the series I can testify to that. If you accuse Halo of being a cash cow then you may as well accuse Mario or Final Fantasy of being cash cows, or the Fallout series, or the Elder Scrolls. Especially since both Fallout and TES each have, seperately, more games than the Halo series does.

As for your comparison, that makes no sense and cannot be used as an accurate representation of your point. This isn't to belittle your point, despite not having played Okami and yet being a Halo fan I think you make a very good point. But the fact is that Okami and Halo are targeted towards completely different people. So if one is more popular than the other, that makes perfect sense, and comparing them is just silly. You'd be better off finding an FPS or 3PS that can be considered a masterpiece, an example of art in gaming, and compare that to Halo. Though as I say, you do make a valid point. But Okami is specifically a niche game and Halo is much more mainstream, so of course Halo will be much more popular than Okami. Just thought I'd get that across.
