Like doom and doom2, doom4 must have:

- dozens of mobs per encounter
- fast weapons
- mobs that die fast and the occasional tough guy
- more emphasis on slaughter and less on story

See, I didn't know that. After playing Doom 3 and being annoying by oh so many little things (the flashlight and the stupid PDA, just to name two) I didn't feel that the expansion was really worth my hard earned money.

See, I didn't know that. After playing Doom 3 and being annoying by oh so many little things (the flashlight and the stupid PDA, just to name two) I didn't feel that the expansion was really worth my hard earned money.

In your defense, they only did it to the pistol. (and, I think, the shotgun)

Ahh, well then it wouldn't have helped me much anyway, since I pretty much exclusively used the chainsaw, chaingun and rocket launcher once I got them.

erm i think the effects (sound/graphical) should be made ever better and scarier, because it was nice to play with the sound turned on nearby to the maximum

Nope, and frankly, I don't really care what id does with its time these days. Doom has never been my shooter of choice.

Precisely, the mod that added flashlight onto the guns was my favourite. And ofcourse COOP CAMPAIGN IS A MUST!! Doom I and II had it, why the hell didnt 3

Enough of the imps hiding behind wall panels in dark corridors, I want to be like the guy on the doom 2 box, fighting off an entire horde of demons under an open sky, I want to see the demon blood boiling off the overheated barrels of my chaingun as the spent cases cover my ankles.

I've just been playing through doom 3 and the expansion, and while they are actually pretty good on the dark corridor stuff, I always felt the game was best when it just gave you a chaingun and a shedload of angry demons and left you to it.
