An ugly gun with a stupid gimmick. It looks like something photoshopped for The Onion to satirize the stereotype of America's "gun culture" and general lack of subtlety.

To say that this... Thing's very existance is an insult to a classic firearm would be an understatement, whomever greenlighted this thought ought to be fired, as their lack of respect for beautiful classics is quite clear.

Who wants to bet that the next thing they do is 'update' the M28 Thompson to utilize C-Mags and RIS Rails? I shudder at the thought...

I dont care much for guns, though Im more of a bow hunter just for the sport (cause I think the last time i went hunting with an actual gun it was for bear), but that just looks ugly. Im sure this would offend me more if I was more vested in firearms, but even at the level I am thats still something I would look at in disgust.

and I cant imagine thats comfortable carrying in a holster.

No thanks, I already don't like the recoil on a normal, single-barrel .45 ACP round. Also, it looks ugly! The only thing that looks good double-barreled is an old-fashioned shotgun. And maybe a flintlock pistol.
Perhaps something that resembles a flintlock, but has an old-style internal rifle mag? The lever action of pulling the hammer could raise and center the round perhaps, in place of a bolt action. It would have that classy look, the stopping power of two shots if so desired, and lacks the inconvenience of having to pour powder or manually load each round. Idea might need some work, but on paper it sounds cool.
Well, with that level of complexity you might as well get a revolver and decorate it :p
I'm rolling with the double-barrel classy gun concept. It would resemble a flintlock and would function like a bolt-action. It may sound complex, but once you get down to describing any gun's mechanism you start talking complexity.

So, a bolt action rifle with a different casing?

I don't see the point of more than one barrel, unless they aren't the same. Combination guns make much more sense, IMHO.

I wonder if, if it was chambered right, one barrel could be used for slugs and one for shot in the manner of the Taurus Judge, a revolver that could interchange regular bullets with shells of the same size. Therefore, a double-purpose gun as well as a double-shot gun.

Hey?

Surely as long as the ammunition is compatible, you don't have to do anything fancy with the barrels.

...

Ah, looking up the Taurus Judge on wiki, it seems that rifling is an issue. Also, if you stick rifling in it and make it be able to shoot bullets, it doesn't legally count as a shotgun even if designed to shoot shot.

So tired of seeing this gun over on /k/, so let me tell you people what has been repeated 10000 times on /k/.

If a single trigger pull fires for barrels (it does, the barrels are welded together) then it is classed as a machine gun, and thus illegal many places.

So no, DO NOT WANT.

So I can waste double the ammunition without increasing my chance to hit my target? This is the stupidest idea I have ever heard.

Just from the video thumbnail, it looks like the TF2 Shortstop.... looks pretty sweet, but guns aren't my kind of thing.

I'm just about to top that double barrel:
http://www.maihaugen.no/no/Postmuseet/Smakebiter/Postforerverge/

A Norwegian Dagger-Revolver commonly known as a postman's dagger, wielded by traveling postmen who where at risk of being attacked for their cargo. A real life "gun-blade" from the early 1800's (the one in the picture is from 1837)

You know, it's a really bad idea to discuss actual firearms on vidja game forum. It's like discussing healthcare on an occult board! D=

It's a cool pistol to have for novelty purposes, I guess. Not at all practical, though.

Brings new meaning to the term "double stack"

OT: Really? That's a terrible idea. 1911's are a bit on the hefty side and two stuck together would be even heavier, not to mention the recoil from 2 .45 ACP rounds. If you want a double barrel pistol, who not get a Derringer?

That's just silly. Which makes it totally awesome. If I owned a gun I'd never use it in a real-life, sensible situation, so any gun I'd ever buy would have to go by the Rule of Cool (I'm always a bit weirded out by people who actually care about guns). And this is just awesome. Reminds me of The Octopus.

Probably the least classy gun I've ever seen.

And anyone who's anyone wants their last words after being fatally shot to be 'Damn! That' one classy gun!'

True story.

I find this so insanely strange...
I literally can't understand anything about this part of American culture
