I'm a little weirded out that that's the conclusion people are jumping to instead of

This reminds me of Half Life 3. People never shut up about it and so I just stop caring. I'm sure it'll be great, and I'd enjoy it, but I'm tired of hearing how "great it is".
Give us more ELE and I'm happy. They had one of the best story arcs in the comic.
Honestly...I'm a little embarrassed to say I forgot all about this.
I knew they said they wanted to do one and were even working on it, I just assume that had been scrapped.
I don't expect lightning to strike twice, but I still think it'll be pretty good.
Also, they should bring in Patton Oswalt...I don't care as who, just have him involved lol He's been doing a lot of Joss Whedon stuff lately (guest starring on Dollhouse and even writing a REALLY good Firefly comic book)
Will be interesting to see how the story can continue from where he original left off, as long as it's funny and has plenty of songs for NPH though I really don't care.
I'm equal parts excited and fearful about this. On the one hand, I loved the first installment. On the other hand I'm very worried that the sequel won't capture the magic of its predecessor. It set the bar pretty high, after all.

I wasn't expecting a sequel, but I'm looking forward to some more great tunes sung by NPH. I think the story could possibly continue from where it left off. I'd like to see what Dr. Horrible does next. Also, Felicia Day!
Maybe he goes all Dr. Frankenstein and resurrects Penny. Or at least tries. That would make for a fun story.

I'm not going to get my hopes up but I guess it couldn't hurt to look into it. The title is a bit misleading though. I had no idea when it was supposed to come out, and now I still don't know. "Sooner than some indefinite time in the future" is still just an indefinite time in the future.

Possible. But no matter how he does it, it will not have a happy ending. Bittersweet at best. The thing is, the ending of Dr.Horrible's sing-along blog was a good ending for it, a happy ending would not have had such an impact, and people who think this sequel will give him a happy ending don't seem to understand Joss Whedon and story-telling.
I would be very disappointed if it did end happily, undoing the meaning of the first part.
Dr.Horrible got what he wanted (or thought he wanted), only to feel empty because of all he had to sacrifice. Penny, the person who was working on the grass-roots level and actually making a difference died and was totally ignored by the media that only focused on exciting, flashy heroes who solved problems by punching them, and later a villain who solved problems by shooting them.
Not to mention that as much as I like Dr.Horrible, he was a villain. And as much as I can identify with the nerd's desire to get back on the world and everyone who laughed at you, that's only becoming a bully himself.
For me it would be worse if the ending was happy without it really feeling like it should be.
