I recently learned that EA confirmed Dragon Age 2. We probably already knew this was going to happen given the card that came with the box copy of Awakening, Dragon Age 2 will most likely be out in Q1 of 2011, barring any potential delays of course.

Given that Bioware is reported to make its fans happy with a Twitter update tomorrow, the update will most likely be info on Dragon Age 2.

That's it, just wanted to share the info.

Edit: Fixed the link, should work properly now.

I'm hoping the Bioware Announcement tomorrow will be Jade Empire 2.

What? A man can dream...

Well, this can be sweet. My computer can't handle DA 1; maye by the time 2 is out, I'll have a new compy & can play them back-to-back.

I just hope they don't phone in the graphics B-Team for DA2. I mean its not a bad looking game, but compared to Mass Effect 2 or Mass Effect 1 you have to wonder what went wrong.

I actually did kind of wonder about this myself. For sure it's not awful to look at, but even ME1 is so nice to look at. It's rather jarring.
Though I guess the graphics fit the games. Mass Effect is supposed to be a space epic, Dragon Age is supposed to be gritty fantasy.

For some reason, Dragon Age didn't do it for me. I couldn't get past how cheesy the beginning areas were. The areas were too linear. I didn't connect with any of the characters, and the combat just felt clunky. I know a lot of people loved that game, but I got about an hour to an hour and a half into it before I just said "Screw it," and played something else.

I thought it was okay, even though the combat was a little crap. Also, you're the first person I know to call the mage's tower linear.

TOTALLY SURPRISED
oh wait no I'm not

EA's publishing it, correct? Yeah, expect a third one after that, too.

While I would kill for this game (please ask me to kill for it), we need to just come to grips with the fact that it will never happen, at least no time soon.

As much as I enjoyed DA, JE is better.

This may be the least surprising thing I've read today.

On a related note, I really need to get my hands on Jade Empire...

well I believe they said Dragon age will be a franchise when they first announced it.

(I agree with you on not being suprised but the first game was called Dragon Age: ORIGINS for a reason...)

...duh?

I'm just... sorry were you expecting a better reaction, dude I would have been shocked if there WASN'T a second Dragon Age.

Still I praise the series for taking the combat system FFXII made and tightening it up.

Now Dragon Age 2 in 2011?

I understand that BioWare is capable of herculean effort, but releasing The Old Republic, Mass Effect 3 and Dragon Age 2 in the same year might cause a bit of an overload.

The core writing team is pretty much unchanged with most of their games, and sometimes people need a break from churning out endless works of genius.

Take it one step at a time, Drew Karpyshyn!

I hope you can port your end results from the first. Not saying I need the character again, just my choices.

Dragon Age 2?!? BioWare, I love you. I really do. I REALLY do. I'm on my 3rd playthrough of DA:O, and I just can't stop for the life of me. I had the same issue with the KotOR games, too. Not to mention The Old Republic, which will take up a good chunk of my life, as well. BioWare, you are my disease.

I thought Dragon Age 2 was announced months ago... with the gaming industry being what it is these days, it's hard to separate the sequels that have actually been announced from the ones that are still "secret" but everyone knows they're coming anyway.
