You and your facts making my argument seem pointless. Off with you!Souplex said:It did more than you think. There were several points where I got unique dialogue options as a Dwarf Noble. For example:meganmeave said:And while I do appreciate being able to fill in my background and play whatever race I want, I also understand that playing an elf pretty much did what Yahtzee said it did. Yes, I am saying Yahtzee was right. If you were an elf, other than the Origin which was a pre-laid out story for you to follow and only took up the first 5-10% of the game, the only times you ever really knew you were an Elf, was when people said, "Oh, you're an elf. Can't stand your kind"
Cailen: I want you to be the one to light the beacon.
Me: The last time I was on a side mission like this I ended up exiled.
Duncan: Don't worry; you're safe from the politics of the Dwarven courts here.
Lies. There are many, many people who love both, myself included.Nimzabaat said:Don't mention ME2, the people that hated ME liked ME2 which means it failed as a sequel, but succeeded as a game, which isn't the same thing
No they aren't. They just took out the cosmetic changes which don't affect anything except the odd reference.ZeroAE said:The best thing about Dragon Age was character costumization , and they are taking it away=(
Not true. The DLC was actually a very small part of the game, you could have happily gone through it without getting DLC. The DLC are all short and not really worth it if you ask me.Hybridwolf said:Eh...From what I saw at a friends house, combat in Dragon Age was luck based, and from all the DLC, it's like half the game must have been missing.
But they could just reduce the length of the game somewhat couldn't they? I mean isn't DA:O around 80-100 hours long? I mean cut 20 hours of it to make what's left a deeper experience and you aren't going to lose all that much.meganmeave said:There weren't a whole lot of these moments though, considering the expansiveness of the game. I don't blame Bioware for that. That would just be too many options to go through for each character.
Well, the Origins were fine as they were. As a human Noble, it was brought up in contextually appropriate instances that I was, indeed, a noble. Otherwise, there was no need for it to pop up any more than it did. In fact, being a human noble opens up the option of a happy ending for a female Warden romancing King Alistair.Axolotl said:But they could just reduce the length of the game somewhat couldn't they? It reminds me a bit of Mass Effect 2 where Bioware's response to a feature not working fully was just to remove rather than trying to fix it.
Unfortunately I think it's one of those things where if you do one thing, you upset one group of gamers, but if you do it the other way, you'll upset a different group of gamers.Axolotl said:But they could just reduce the length of the game somewhat couldn't they? and it will be yours...its going to be like DA1 where you made a character and there were like...12 diffrent ways you could rise up and be the champion. i doubt there going to go YOU ARE A HUMAN WARRIOR!! DEAL WITH IT!!MiracleOfSound said:This is bad news.
One of my favorite things in Dragon Age was the fact that my character was totally mine.
But I won't be able to, say, choose an elf, then the gender, then the class, and still have Origins to choose from in addition to the physical appearance and the depth of the story itself.Gudrests said:and it will be yours...its going to be like DA1 where you made a character and there were like...12 diffrent ways you could rise up and be the champion. i doubt there going to go YOU ARE A HUMAN WARRIOR!! Let's hope so... I've no problem playing a human, I just like to create him/her.Gudrests said:and it will be yours...its going to be like DA1 where you made a character and there were like...12 diffrent ways you could rise up and be the champion. i doubt there going to go YOU ARE A HUMAN WARRIOR!! Now wait a moment, I didn't say I was necessarily opposed to more sex...Haydyn said:Yes, let's take away the uniqueness of Dragon Age to please all of the sex craved Mass Effect fanboys.
The graphics were not bad. The customization was great. The combat system was a refreshing change from shooters and God of War Button Mashing. The lack of voice immersed more than your characters talking for you. If you want another Mass Effect, wait for a new one. Don't try to change Dragon Age to your standards, which are already met by many other games.
Neither did I. I just think of Mass Effect fanboys as people who originally played the game because there was the promise of nudity.StarCecil said:Now wait a moment, I didn't say I was necessarily opposed to more sex...Haydyn said:Yes, let's take away the uniqueness of Dragon Age to please all of the sex craved Mass Effect fanboys.

An interesting take on it. I really don't care that much about races however I really feel that dragon age should just use the baulders gate 2 class system. More classes the better really in my opinion I did feel that there wasnt much difference between two warriors in the first one.Denamic said:In ye olde D&D, characters were randomly generated.
You didn't get to decide where he/she came from or what he/she stood for.
You got an adventure, your character's alignment and stats to make shit up as you go.
And it was a good system.
I see this as something similar.
