I'm the only person left on this Earth who doesn't like their games, it seems.Susan Arendt said:And that's a bad thing?Whistler777 said:Aww man, I was totally sold on this game after reading Susan's article...then I noticed that Bioware was the developer.

Well, now I'm curious -- what don't you like about them?Whistler777 said:I'm the only person left on this Earth who doesn't like their games, it seems.Susan Arendt said:And that's a bad thing?Whistler777 said:Aww man, I was totally sold on this game after reading Susan's article...then I noticed that Bioware was the developer.

I'd describe it as "playing their games puts me into a coma of boredom".Susan Arendt said:Well, now I'm curious -- what don't you like about them?Whistler777 said:I'm the only person left on this Earth who doesn't like their games, it seems.Susan Arendt said:And that's a bad thing?Whistler777 said:Aww man, I was totally sold on this game after reading Susan's article...then I noticed that Bioware was the developer.

Good! I'm very glad to hear that (and I'm not being a smartass, as much as it might sound like that). That game's moral choices were some of the most complex I've ever seen. It wasn't even so much gray as it was black or blacker.Susan Arendt said:For everyone mentioning The Witcher, it was definitely an influence on Dragon Age (as was Aristotle, George R. R. Martin, and The Faerie Queen).
Well what're you looking for in an RPG?Whistler777 said:I'd describe it as "playing their games puts me into a coma of boredom".Susan Arendt said:Well, now I'm curious -- what don't you like about them?Whistler777 said:I'm the only person left on this Earth who doesn't like their games, it seems.Susan Arendt said:And that's a bad thing?Whistler777 said:Aww man, I was totally sold on this game after reading Susan's article...then I noticed that Bioware was the developer.

By request of friends who love KoTOR and Mass Effect, I played both games at different times, and experience equally disappointing results. I'll admit that I probably didn't give Mass Effect its proper time, but after playing KoTOR and absolutely abhorring the combat system and endless dialogue trees, I was impatient.
Maybe I'll try Mass Effect again some other time, but I can't say I'm too enthused. Unless all other Bioware titles are radically different than the two I played, I'm subscribed to the fact that their games aren't for me.
Something like S.T.A.L.K.E.R. or Fallout 3. A game that can be extremely open-ended and expandable, but with more fun factor than watching paint dry.Undeadpool said:Well what're you looking for in an RPG?Whistler777 said:I'd describe it as "playing their games puts me into a coma of boredom".Susan Arendt said:Well, now I'm curious -- what don't you like about them?Whistler777 said:I'm the only person left on this Earth who doesn't like their games, it seems.Susan Arendt said:And that's a bad thing?Whistler777 said:Aww man, I was totally sold on this game after reading Susan's article...then I noticed that Bioware was the developer.

In that case you probably won't find much to love about Mass Effect, it's pretty wordy as well. Have ya tried Oblivion?Whistler777 said:Something like S.T.A.L.K.E.R. or Fallout 3.
