Good. I played tons of KOTOR, KOTOR 2, and WoW so Im kinda use to that type of combat.Jandau said:If you liked KotOR's combat, you'll like DA:O's as well. They are quite simmilar.
I think that... No, I know that WoW's combat is totally different from D20 and by the extension of it, KotOR 1 or 2.Bobtowna said:Good. There's tons and I mean tons of headgear in this game.Terrik said:Looks really great, but what does this game have against headwear? I've been looking at screens of player characters and party members, I dont think I've seen a single helmet or any other headgear on any of them. Most people probably dont care but it's really a standard thing to have in an RPG, especially if it has so much character custumization like this game claims to have. So anyone of you who have the game, correct me if I'm wrong here.
Yeah, there are alot of types of headgear, but what you might be noticing is that the characters take them off whenever there is a talking scene.Donbett1974 said:There's tons and I mean tons of headgear in this game.Terrik said:Looks really great, but what does this game have against headwear? That sounds awsome. I cant wait to get this game!Dr Spaceman said:It's much harder than KOTOR, but the feel is the same. I actually like that it's harder because it makes you think about how deal with different situations rather than just relying on your Jedi Guardian's Force Jump.
One thing I really like is the injury system. You may recall in KOTOR that if a character loses all their hit points, they simply have to wait till the fight is over then they're good to go again. In Dragon Age, if a character loses all their hit points they do revive afterwards but they've taken on an injury. Injuries are small penalties to constitution, attack damage, and the like. (Don't worry, they're not permanent, you can heal them with certain items) It makes more sense and forces you to be more careful, especially when you're deep in a dungeon.
So you're glad morrigan is in the game rightTheFacelessOne said:I like it. The only complaint I have is the Giant Spiders in the game. I'm terrified of the way spiders look, so I'm scared to go onward. Dear god, I'm pathetic. Anyways, there's still hope for the toolset though!
Yes I'm glad. She's hot. But when I switched to her character for the first time I was like, "Oh...hell..." Luckily, she hasn't randomly casted that spell in battle yet.khululy said:So you're glad morrigan is in the game rightTheFacelessOne said:I like it. Theres hats, butn they don't show up on the cutscenes. I got a cool looking Viking Helmet for Alistair.Terrik said:Looks really great, but what does this game have against headwear? I'm kind of with you on this, I've always loved Bioware games despite the gameplay, not because of it. Their greatest achievement is usually creating a story that overcomes my annoyances with the combat system and all. That's why I love the Mass Effect series more, but it's really a matter of personal preference. It might be because I never played and was never familiar with D&D and its rules while many early Bioware fans were, but it always kind of annoyed me.Jay Cee said:I don't understand the appeal of this brand of combat.
It attempts to portray a visceral and powerful feel but whenever I use it, it feels clunky and monotonous.
It's acceptable in certain genres such as an MMORPG, which require balance, but in a single player open world narrative based game, it makes little sense.
I imagine it's a designing art that I either don't understand or needs to be thrown in the sea of obsolescence.
