I think Speilberg started this thing off with his acquisition of the Ghost in the Shell films, which he has free reign to remake in any way he sees fit.

Does he just rent a film and gain automatic licenses over it because he's Steven Shit-Face Speilberg?

It looks to be OF prosthetics and makeup though instead of bad CGI. Though I'm confused, I thought people loved Giant Monkey's/Apes in movies, I know I do.

Hell, they could have made him look like the monkey king from forbidden kingdom and it would have been closer.

Yeah but all the potential good is totally countered by the total bad that is Goku's Oozaru form!

Usually when a film comes out and I know it's going to be bad, if it's based on something that's fairly successful I will see it anyway. Because I have nothing better to do and I must be a glutton for punishment for subjecting myself to some of the awful films I've seen....that or stupid. But anyway, I might not see this one even though it's based on something on something that has been successful...which is saying something...cause I really have watched some awful things.

Amen, Live action usually sucks.
Stick to animation with these things it works.
