Watching Dragonball Z abridged made me think, especially the latest installment. 2 big things I noticed in season 1, continuity-wise. 1) Why is it when Gohan transforms he loses his clothes, but when Vegeta transforms, he keeps his armour? and 2) Why does Gohan transform again while fighting Vegta when he needs his tail to transform, and Piccolo removed it back when hes training Gohan shortly after they beat Raditz? Just really puzzled me

The armor is made for saiyans. Sayians have a habit of turning into giant monkies. Its a good idea, really. And turning into a giant monkey is just what DBZ characters do 'till the supersayian mode becomes a child's plaything.

Oh, man. There are so many, anything to do with Tien being weak annoys me... In the story that it is based on, the character that Tien is based on beats the character that Goku is based on twice and joins forces once. Yet in DBZ everyone that isnt a sayan sucks eggs, GAH!

EDIT: The story is Journey to the West.

Wait, where in The Journey to the West does he come in?

It's DragonBallZ,what do you expect? The answer to Vegeta is that he can control his ape form and his aror is special and streches out when he transforms.

The armour was built with the whole giant monkey transformation in mind. That and as kids the tail will regrow, same thing happened with Goku once or twice in the plain old dragonball days.

A character called Tien doesnt but... ah, damn it I forgot the characters name... But yeah, no one in DBZ is named directly from it.

Vegeta's armor was made to be able to stretch when he transforms. And Gohan's tail just grew back during the fight, something that is meant to happen often unless removed properly.

Isn't Dragonball Z supposed to be a parody of other anime series? The its a clever parody on other continuity issues!

Really most of the Journey to the West stuff was dropped by the time it became dbz. Towards the end the constant power ups did get fairly silly leaving most characters left behind but the author had wanted to drop the story several times before he finally put it to bed. You can see some clear attempts to end the show in the Frieza and Cell sagas but it did finally end at Buu where it had all gotten a bit out of hand. With nothing at all coming after, nothing at all.

But the bald guy from the legend... It was supposedly Krillin, but they screwed up the character. I mean, where's the crescent staff-thingy?

Yes, I agree. It is known fact that it ended with DBZ and not a single new thing about Dragonball came out after that, now everybody sleep.

No, he isnt one of the three main characters. He is the guy who is the son of a god and a human and has the third eye.

Just for fun, I'll explain something from a manga/anime written by a comedy writer (if you watch or read any of the original Dragon Ball or Doctor Slump, you might understand what Akira Toriyama was getting at. For that matter, you will if you watch 'Akira' or 'Fist of the North Star'!):
1) Vegeta is a 'Saiyan Elite' so he doesn't lose control of his mind when he transforms and his special Saiyan uniform can expand to accommodate his Great Ape body. Both were explained right there in the show...in the Japanese version, anyway.
2) Gohan is a youngster, so his tail grows back in the presence of a full moon just as Goku's did when he was a child.
The Dragon Ball Z movies were the real continuity nightmare!
Do you have any Excel Saga continuity queries for us now?

It even explains the deal with saiyan armor in season 2.
