I might be going to a DragonForce concert in April. This will be my first concert I've been to. I need to know what to expect. I am a huge fan and if you feel like you have to rant on them GET A FUCKING LIFE. Why would you spend time on a topic about a band you don't even like?

...Anyway...

The band will stand on a large platform (called a 'stage' in roady lingo) and perform some songs.

Expect a lot of people screaming in the crowd, expect a lot of people trying to keep up with the tempo by moshing/...dancing, is it?

And if you're on of the aforementioned moshers, moshing to Dragonforce will probably result in the loss of a lot of weight, as your legs will turn to useless mush.

Imagine a billion screaming idiots. Imagine a badass band playing epic music from their latest album with a twist (since its not pre-recorded).

Now imagine speakers the size of a house.

Everywhere.

Plan on becoming deaf(er). If not from the music, then from the croud.

Yeah, this is going to be locked real fast. At the rate the OP's tongue is slipping, he might also get a suspension. Just goes to show, kids, don't sass other folks, lest they sass back.

As for the topic at hand, concerts are very big. Very big, and very loud. Depending on the area, you'll be standing or sitting with potential hundreds of other people that may or may not be uttering deafening cheers from the depths of their lungs. If the latter, you're in luck. If the former, be prepared to stand in a very cramped area for extended periods of time. Also, beware of mosh pits.

I hope that Dragonforce has improved their live performances or that you like out-of-sync music, however.

Depending on the venue, you can probably not drink any bottled water there, as they dont allow it in case people throw it at the band. Some venues do allow it, other's dont. Mostly you just can get cups of water though.

Wear earplugs if you want to hear the purest form of the music (precise notes etc) and not the overall tone of the place, you actually hear it better that way. And you save your ears, I don't usually bother with them myself, but most of the musicians I know that go to concerts wear them so they don't go tone deaf.

If you buy merch, it will get stolen if you leave it for even 10 seconds.

I don't like dragonforce, and have never been to any power metal concerts, but I imagine it would be like a mixture between metal and techno, so lots of jumping around, and lots of horns.

I have to say that you should prepare to be disappointed.
I am a huge fan of DragonForce and i really like their music but... their stage performance could use some improving.
Great band but when on stage they become a good band.

Then again, i haven't been to a concert in a while so they could have changed.

Prepare to be disappointed by the fact that DragonForce can't play their music well live.

You know what? You wanna see moshing? Look at the Rock AM ring when Korn plays.. The whole crowd pretty much starts moshing.

Expect that. But with a terrible live band.

I second this. Saw them a year or so ago in Oklahoma City, and it was a fun show. Not a great performance, but I had fun.

I heartily recommend that anyone and everyone take any chance to go see Turisas. Fuckin' love them.

Expect all their music to sound the same. Nah, you will like it no matter what!

They're not the Who, now, ARE THEY?!
Ok, I admit DragonForce would be fun, but somehow I doubt there will be anything truly epic there.

*random keyboard*
*stupid wannabee Helloween voice*
*guitarist who is the biggest wanker since....[British people insert a wanker here]....*
*Drummer who is the only good member of the band*
*More random guitars...with a solo that everyone thinks is complicated but is just tricky playing*
*legions of fans...that are stupid*

And no one knows there is a bass player anywhere in the mix. He could stand there, do nothing, and the song would never change.

I hope he enjoys drunk vocals and guitar lines that get screwed up.

This is the unfortunate case with all "power-metal." Why don't more people listen to Dream Theater?

Imagine: Loads of kids pushing and shouting, doing stupid things to show that they're "more metal" than the rest of you.

Basically, if you're familiar with the process of comparing dick size on MMOs; "My character's a high level than yours!", "Well I've got 7 others that are all mastered, but someone hacked my account and deleted them." bullshit, be prepared for the EXACT same mentality.

"I've seen Dragonforce 20 times!", "Well I saw them supporting Korn (or some other bollocks)". No matter which of the lines you hear, you'll probably be left wanting to strangle some fuck-nugget who's just gone into "the pit" and decided to start swinging their fists around at the obviously much smaller people in attendance. Pits are for dancing, not for fighting. Busting that girl's nose open ISN'T impressing anyone with more than 1 brain cell.

PS: Dream Theater are NOT power metal, thank you very much.......why on earth would ANYone think that? Jesus tap-dancing Christ.

Ah,to be young and still giving a crap about pre-amble groups like Dragonforce and Bullet For My Valentine.Well i myself have grown up as a metal head,go see a real metal band, like Kamelot,or Testament.

"Pits are for dancing, not for fighting."

I'd like to see someone break into a tap dancing session at a Slayer gig,Baseball bats will materialise from the ground and that poor fucker will be sucking meat through a straw for the rest of his days.
