A couple of weeks ago me and some friends were reminiscing about the good old times at we had school (which was only about a year ago...) especially in drama when we had to go off in small groups in come up with our own plays or adapt a storyline.

We managed to make some awesome ones, one was about 25 minutes long, complete with thieved LOTR music, props including a wooden sword my Dad made and an epic speech at the end. We practiced it for weeks (except 1 guy) and we had a seriously awesome time. However when it got to the singular continuous take of the film, the 1 guy who didn't practice much obviously messed the whole thing up-he threw our timings out completely (we'd synced the music on a CD in to come in and out at specific points), meaning our epic fight scene (which is not so epic when it's 3 guys in a room hacking at each other's swords) was ruined. It was taking forever, I gave up and told the guy to die, he did so, I then realised where we were in the music, told him to get back up (which obviously looked really weird), then when he did actually have to die he kept looking at his watch while he was still in the scene!

Then we also remembered back in about the summer of 2004 we decided to do a proper film ourselves with my camcorder; we got all the footage done but then never got round to editing it. Thankfully we still had the tapes, my friend got it all edited together and we came up with this:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cBVsWXse4NE

It is totally insane, we had great trouble ourselves remembering what the hell was going on, but I think/hope it'll give you guys a few laughs.

So do any of have crazy memories of letting your creative side loose on the film industry, or indeed have any footage you can actually show us? :D

I thought this was about "drama" like friend drama.

Because that kind of drama is like...private theatre where all of the actors are hilariously stupid.
I thought it was about drama in general. Like how a random stranger just starts talking to you for no reason.

I am that stranger.
I love chatting up random people.

I also love to complain about stuff in a ranty, Dr. Cox-esque fashion.

Always have.
What is worse is when someone just starts talking and they know you don't want to be talked to. Like, if I am reading or listening to my MP3 player in a waiting room and the only other person interrupts my listening to music waiting time so they can have a conversation.

Yes, in high school, we produced a little 30 minute film entitled "Dirk Phoenix: Space Racer." We've discussed YouTubing it, but never have. It's an epic, extremely low-budget comedy about a former Space Racer who must fight Space Canadians to save the world (and Chocolate Planet.) Props include my friend's '86 Toyota Corolla, as the hero's (talking) space vehicle. At one point we had the script posted online. We've also discussed a sequel, but AFAIK no one has written anything yet.

We did write the script for another mini-movie, this one set in post-apocalyptic times and set as more of a dark comedy/satire of a lot of movie cliches. Characters there involve a man with a robotic arm, his estranged brother -- a robot with a human arm -- and a tyrannical user of Magickon, bent on destroying Science. I don't want to give too much away, in the unlikely event that someone steals our movie idea. ;D

See, that's why I make with the sillies first. If they overhear and laugh, there's a good chance they don't mind being chatted up.

If someone is reading or listening to music, it is somewhat rude to bother them.
It is also bothersome.
Plus, I am a loner as well so that adds to it as well.

Haha! That was my clever ploy to draw you all in to the shameless self promotion of our film. Seems to have slightly failed however...

So now, for your own amusement, I shall create a threat with some actual friend drama.
