Dread it, run from it. The Infinity War trailer still arrives

As someone who doesn't care about superhero movies, I say this trailer looked pretty awesome. The last superhero movie I saw was Captain America 2. But all this space shit (are they on a different planet? Lots of futuristic buildings) and the villain from another dimension or whatever he's supposed to be, and the soldier guy there with his gun like that will do anything? Then again I don't know comics, it's probably a magical gun.

Some of these actors must be getting tired at this point, so maybe it would be great if some of these characters died.

Hmmm, so the good guys have an army of Wakandans. But I wonder if the Asgardians might show up to help. Earth only has so many supers and the Asgardians are more or less the only ally they have, and Thor, presumably now their king, would probably not ignore the request. I suppose they could show up in part 2 instead, when things will presumably go cosmic, alongside the Guardians (and maybe the Ravagers?).

Kind of on the fence about Thanos' look. I think it's not as visually interesting as the near comic-perfect suit in his previous appearances.

I believe Chris Evans said a few years ago he wants to quit acting to focus on a directing career. So my money is on Cap biting it.

I thought it looked like fun...

At least you Marvel fans have a cohesive vision. You have no idea what a shitty movie designed around your preferred universe is like. Justice League my ass.

I'm just saying they should focus on making good characters and not try so hard to be diverse. Have you read that America comic? About the latina lesbian who's super awesome at everything? My friend who happens to be a latina lesbian told me she never felt more pandered to in her whole life.
Super awesome at anything except having a comic that's good and makes bloody sense. I swear America is the worst comic I've read in years, and I used to read Spawn for God's sake! And it hurts even more because America was an actually decent character in Young Avengers, but then they gave her to Gabby Rivera and it all turned into a steaming turd.

OT: I liked the trailer, I just hope Thanos gets his proper look. Without his suit he looks....off. Not bad, just off. Also would've liked to see some of the Black Order but what can you do (maybe for Part 2?).

The trailer look fun. Strangely I want to see Thanos winning this or rather he kicked all of their arses!

I think I can kinda piece abit of it together when thinking back to the last Thor film and the leak trailer (mostly the same compared to the official release).

The leak shows the GoG found Thor alone in space (he doesn't need to breathe air?) which lead up to the end of the trailer part. The end of Thor 3 shows their ship got spotted by a larger ship. The release trailer shows Strange and Tony finding Bruce in a wreakage of a house (?). I can only guess that Hulk got his ass kicked and somehow got plummeted all the way back to Earth like a meteor?

As someone with zero interest in superheroes and who only watches Marvel movies because people won't shut up about them.. yeah, it looks pretty solid, definitely better than some of the other trailers I've seen.

From what we can see, the CGI looks pretty strong at least, certainly compared to the first Avengers movie which could look sort of video-gamey at times. Thanos looking slightly cartooney seems like a good way to go, since it at least makes him visually distinct and gives him some expressiveness. I felt like Ultron's Bayformers look kind of worked against the characterization sometimes, and that probably contributed to me not really enjoying that movie.

I mean isn't Infinity War a two-part film? This as the first part and then the concluding part of it a bit later? If that's true then it seems pretty telegraphed that this one'll end with the Avengers fucked up and Thanos looking utterly unstoppable. Then cue the second film when it's dramatic underdog comeback time for the team.

If they go with this, in that it's a two parter? I agree that this movie will be "oh no, we got our asses kicked and onlty barely managed to keep earth from being destroyed in this 1st wave and now Thanos is here and going to wipe us out with the gauntlet.

And then the GOTG turn up and kinda go "need our help?" for the last ten/fifteen mins of the movie and then it'll be all "You guys just needed a little extra help is all" from Starlord.

I'm cautiously optimistic. I can't wait to see all the characters interacting, especially the Guardians of the Galaxy. Kinda hoping they'll add a bit of levity considering how dark the movies have gotten...

I see this as the Marvel equivalent of Vegeta/Nappa landing on Earth and fucking up the heroes with little-to-no effort, minus the whole resurrection of Goku and subsequent beating of ass of Vegeta/Nappa but with Marvel heroes instead and Thanos/minions replacing Vegeta/Nappa, and of course less mindless DBZ power-up filler scenes and long-stares to drag on for 3 episodes... ;)

Um, what? When have the MCU movies ever been dark, let alone recently? Heck, the last movie has Asgard being destroyed in the finale, and what does the film do right after that happens? Crack another joke.

I actually liked Ragnarok, but while its jokes land about 90% of the time, that leaves 10%, and...yeah.

Fair enough, I think I meant the tone of the movies for something...or maybe I was thinking of DC's movies I dunno.
