Does anyone experience this or am I the only one that does?. You have a dream about tripping or just simply falling and your body physically reacts to it. Sometime I wake up with a start having physically felt an "impact".

Is this weird?.

It's quite common, don't worry about it. It's often called "sleep starts" or medically "hypnagogic jerks" that happen as a person is falling asleep. Most people don't recall these jerks occur because they are actually asleep or in transition to deep sleep but it does happen to at least to 60% of people.

As far as I recall it's not a disorder and nothing to concern yourself about. That is unless the jerks are preventing you from getting enough sleep in which case you should see a sleep specialist - but other than that, no. You're still normal.

I have this too, although rarely. I think it's actually a really common thing for people to get.

I have interesting dreams, but my body knows it doesn't need to be part of it. Altohough it sometimes feels like it is. If I am lucky I can control my dreams. Most recently, I had a dream I was riding a horse with cps chasing me on horses, on a train track that had lots of platforms. There was an electric train next to me so I somehow thought of a machine that controlls it and I got on and took off... I think I am a bit off-topic but it was still a cool dream.

Happens all the time, every night for me. Really used to annoy my ex-gf, which was hilarious... But yeah, I have very vivid dreams anyway, so it doesn't really bother me.

Well one time I had a dream I was eating a giant marshmallow and when I woke up my pillow was gone...

Phew, thought I was the only one there for a while. i asked my friends and they game the "wtf" look so I decided to hop on to my favorite internet site and ask around. Thank you good doctor!.

Yeah I used to get them all the time. Along with random reactions as I'm falling asleep.
I usually get a falling sensation like I tripped and tumbling into a well. Only thing is I usually get up with a start after and then doze back to sleep again.

For or less the same for me too, I forget about it soon after and fall asleep.

Dreamed I fell off a cliff once. woke up right before I hit the ground, and just in time to find myself falling off of my bunk. Quick reflexes saved my life, maybe literally.

God damn, this happens to me ALL THE TIME.
And the worst part is, it doesn't even happen while sleeping.

It happens when I'm just about to go to sleep, or JUST did, so I wake up and have to work on sleeping again!

I get that. I don't usually seem to dream of falling first though (or at least I don't remember it). I just wake up suddenly and feel as if I fell into bed.
