Nooooooooo!

That... film... does not exist. it is an unfilm.

Anyway, this feels odd to me. IMDB originally showed a release date of December this year. Still does in fact.

Call me cynical but this does not inspire confidence. I'm thinking reshoots...

Anyway, I liked the Stallone movie. No really, I did.

*reading through it*
"Oh ok, another old movie from my childhood that everyone seems to think is shit, that is getting a reboot so it is better in every way... yeah yeah... a-huh... Karl Urban sure... wait... KARL URBAN. FUCK YES"

Color me excited.
I love that guy in every movie I've ever seen him in.

I really enjoyed Doom, purely as a Sci-Fi/Action-Horror film. The FPS sequence was incredible and Karl Urban was fantastic as Reaper.

Am I the only one who thought Stallone was actually a perfect Dredd? He has the Dredd look, which very few people do. OK, yes, he's a bit of a crap actor and a bit hard to understand (Not his fault, I think he actually has a reason for it), but visually he had the presence and feel of Dredd done perfectly.

No news about who will be playing Walter the Wobot yet?

Anderson will be in the film, but the Angels will not. I don't know how I feel about that. Still, Anderson. If it is successful we might get Judge Death, I don't know how they could do that.

Anyway I have read an interview with Urban where he promises to not take off the helmet.

The picture doesn't make it look like the greatest thing in the world. Only ever heard of Judge Dread so if I do see the movie at least I won't have high expectations.

2000AD spawned some of the best comic book characters ever. You can keep your Spidermans and your Fantastic Fours, Give me Robo Hunter, Sinister Dexter, Rogue Trooper or Slaine any day.

Ooh or ABC warriors

Edit someone get that fist of dread sequence up in this thread stat!

The original movie with Stallone was a real good guilty pleasure. I'm not sure if I want a real serious movie now...
No reason you cannot keep watching it, it was also a good film as it effectively buried Rob Schneider for a few years

Not familiar with the Judge Dredd series.
All I know is that the Stallone movie left me with a bad first impression.
I want to know I'm wrong.
Whatever you do don't base your opinion of Dredd on that abomination of a movie. That would be like basing your opinion of Batman on the Batman and Robin movie. If you really want to see what Judge Dredd is like then I recommend checking out some of the classic stories like The Apocalypse War,Judgement Day,Necropolis,The Day the Law Died(also known as the Judge Caligula series),Judge Death and Judge Death Lives

The 16 year old film was awesome for 20 minutes. Right up until Dredd removed his helmet.
Indeed, I was quite happy till it turned into the sylvester stallone show.
Ray Park didnt feel the need to take off his mask as Snake Eyes in GI Joe atleast.

Rob Scheinder has to be in this one as well.
I do so hope you are joking, I am going to proceed with the assumption that you are, lest I feel like you need to be in a care facility.

Please, PLEASE dont screw this up. Judge Dredd is my favorite comic book-character! I would love to see this being up there with the Dark Night and all. Also: Judge Death. Please.

EDIT: ALSO: Walter. PLEASE! I want to see walter!

What's the complete opposite of cautiously optimistic? Wildly pessimistic? Yeah, that sounds about right; I'm wildly pessimistic about the upcoming Dredd movie. With that being said, I still remember loving the Judge Minty trailer from a year ago. This one:

This HAS to awesome. All of Garland's work is brilliant. OMG he's writing a Logan's Run remake and has been named as the writer for the actual Halo film.
